I want to trade with a MOD...

RE: I want to trade with a MOD...
I personally have not traded yet on this site so i'm new but i've been looking for a jordan RC BGS 8 since i've been on this site. There is a few traders on this site that i will send first too. BUT i'm not gonna send some one $650.00 of cards first, i don't care who they are. BUT what i would do is send $650.00 worth of my cards to a MOD first and then pay for the mod to send my cards to the trader AND pay for the traders card send to me from the MOD's address. There is a handful of traders i do feel comfortable with on this site so far though. I plan of doing as much trading as possible on this site it's just hard since i only trade graded. There is quite a bit of really nice people on this site and i've only ran into a few "bad apples" but as a whole i'm pretty impressed with the forums here. Thank you for listening to my rant.

Jason

P.S. The reason i brought this up was because it was brought up on another thread. I do approve of the "if your new you send first rule" but i also think there is a cutoff point for me (atleast) on the value of the cards.

Trading ANYTHING in my Photobucket for these cards:

M. Jordan 1986-87 Fleer #57 BGS 8
M. Jordan (BGS)
C. Barkley (BGS)
L. Gehrig (BGS, SGC, PSA)
BASKETBALL GRADED CARDS (BGS)

Unless you were to trade with someone on here who has say 200+ trades with all perfect scores right? Then you'd trust them I hope. Smile

RE: I want to trade with a MOD...
Not a plausible idea, because Mods usually don't do an escrow service for you. You would have to compensate them for the time it took to handle your packages to and from the mail and you would also have to reimburse them for the postage as well.

My suggestion is to make some lower end trades to build up a reputation until you have enough feedback to convince a newer trader to make that trade and send first.
It won't work if you have a few low end trades and try and convince a trader that has more feedback to send first, because that scenario has scammer written all over it.
With that said I don't see you getting a BGS 8 MJ rc on this site unless you are patient enough to build your feedback or if you were to trust an experienced trader with shipping first yourself.

I would have no problem reimbursing a MOD for his time and i've already stated i would pay for all EXTRA shipping charges. I do would the the little extra things to make sure i never got scammed on such a "large order".

On a side note, i trust you enough to send my cards to you first for that Jordan RC you have. *wink*

We have a lot of great traders on this site, if I sent you a list of all the great members and traders on here, it would dwarf any list of the bad/questionable traders by 200%.

For every one bad trader, there are over 100 great traders on this site, and these are traders that even I have no problems sending first too if they ask, and I would even advance them any cards that I have if they needed it to complete any deal they are making with someone else, because I know that they aren't going to rip me off, and I know they are trustworthy, and they will make it up when They get a card in that I am interested in.

There are a lot of great people on here, that go out of their way to help other members with their PC, they send another member a patch card of their favorite player or team for their PC, with nothing asked in return, or they send another member's kids who collect , cards of their favorite player or teams, so the good far, far outweigh the bad.

If you want to make your first trades, use Xtreme, or CEOcards, floydtown, cardboard_fan, Capt Nemo, cubsfaninil, mpekar,alexs64,radarblip, smukchs, ricelynnevans, wtsjr, etc.... those are just a few of the great members here, and there are many-many more....

I will have to pass on that, I have about $575 in that card after getting it slabbed again changing it from the old slab with the subs on the back to the new encasement BGS offers. That MJ was graded 11 years ago and I wouldn't pay for a regrade through BGS just a reslab.

Most BGS graded collectors believe that they were a little more strict with their grades back then and I have seen recently graded 8's with better subs that I thought should have been worse compared to mine. I have even held a recent 8.5 that I really thought was slightly worse than my 8. I kinda regret not getting it regraded. But that is why I shelled the cash out for it because I thought for a BGS 8, that it was a great display piece for the price.

RE: I want to trade with a MOD...
Honestly, I don't care what the newbies say - if you don't have at least 25 completed trades with a good rating, I will insist that you send first - regardless of the card value. And I can put down a list of traders here who know that I am good and that my communication is well above par if I have to send out later than I originally say.

Collect Patrick Ewing, Jalen Rose, Kevin Garnett, LaMarcus Aldridge, Jeff Green

if you have less than 25 trades, I will ask you to send first.
