Brandon Webb: What to expect?
I drafted him in my fantasy league, and was wondering how people think he will do this year.

RE: Brandon Webb: What to expect?
right now they are saying he may not make the game 3 start, he's progressing a little slower than he thought but the rangers are keeping a close eye on him through training.

RE: Brandon Webb: What to expect?
Fantasywise: High risk-very high reward. Cy Young type reward
For the Rangers: Low risk-High reward. Rangers have had some recent luck with this type of off season pick ups (i.e. Vlad Guerrero).

RE: Brandon Webb: What to expect?
well they had their eyes set on thome (took less money to stay w/twins) then they wanted to use young then they got napoli now youngs pist, i think they are really looking to rotate DH and vladdy was great last year! but he pretty much disappeared after the all-star break, and he was always an easy out if he didnt make contact(dude swings at everything! although he can take any pitch outta the park too). plus gotta lot of young guys needing a good looking at.

RE: Brandon Webb: What to expect?
Webb is a high risk/high reward in fantasy this season. He won't be pitching from the mound again until his arm is back to strength so we will see. I love him as a player so I wish him well. I haven't done my drafts yet but if I can get him in the later rounds I may take the chance.

RE: Brandon Webb: What to expect?
Hoping for at the least a 10 to 15 Win season out of him doubt it happens he is just barely throwing long toss at this point. So he proably won't be starting or pitching until a month or 2 into the season.
As long as he produces more than Harden did last year it will be worth it. Harden was paid about 10 million to much last year.
As far as Vlad he could hit .250 last year and woulda been fine as far as I am concerned he was a clubhouse leader his value as a leader was worth his salary and that was the same with Cliff Lee.

As far as ticking off Young, that comes down to a GM not playing the game and not having realiezed Youngs egos. Thome and Ramirez where supposed to come off the bench 250 at bats max and that wasn't communicated to Young.

Basically the Rangers have ZERO clubhouse leaders other than Young so that's why Nolan Ryan is trying to patch things between Young and the front office. Its time for Josh Hamilton, Cruz and Kinsler to step up and become clubhouse leaders, they already do it on the field so shouldnt be a stretch.
