Yeah, I agree. I don't think he is a HOF'er. If Mattingly isn't then Edmonds for sure isn't.

He tried to play again with the Cards this year but he tore his Achilles and the doctor advised him to hang it up citing potential future complications

Can't believe no mentions this when describing Edmonds' legacy. He was an incredible player that had his career hampered by injuries due to his "balls to the wall" recklessness in the field. But he was also a human highlight film in his hey day.

Oh yeah, he also could have made his career out of hammering the Astros .

Great player who I despised only because he always knew how to rip my heart out during games. Not a HOF player but still someone I'll always remember even 50 years from now.
