1979 Topps Break

1979 Topps Break
So I ebay'd a box of 79 Topps - Obviously the only card of note was the Ozzie rookie I pulled. Its going in the mail tomorrow - with 18 other cards - to get graded. Its beautiful - but heck if I know how to grade those 70's and 80's cards. I am always wrong!

Its still very cool opening the same packs I did when I was a kid. Although instead of $.25 a pack they are $10 a pack!

Keep your fingers crossed on my Ozzie!

That's awesome. Those Ozzie's are notoriously off centered. If you got one centered, it'll bring in a nice penny!

Nice! I love opening older wax, but unfortunately I can rarely afford it. Good luck with the grading.

RE: 1979 Topps Break
I'd be happy with a 7 - but considering the cost of the wax - I need an 8+. I did get a lot of those 8-10 dollar cards - but those get "shoeboxed" for the kids to find one day!

RE: 1979 Topps Break
Thats really cool. I have not seen many vintage breaks, thanks for sharing this with us. Keep me in mind for that Ozzie. I could use an upgrade. Mine is a BVG 3. The edges and corners are nice but the centering is terrible and really dropped the grade.

RE: 1979 Topps Break
I would be interested in a bunch of the 79 Cubs (raw). I can PM you a list. Edit - never mind. I have all the 79s. Hope you enjoy the break. I have never done an old box like that.

Looking for Ryne Sandberg, Micah Gibbs, and Cubs Topps commons.
Now using paypal shipping so everyone will get a DC number and no more trips to P.O.!
