The unofficial User Guide on how to add cards to a specific collection
within organize, here is what im doing:

open two tabs for organize in your browser:
you search for a card that you currently have. you find it in organize

click "add to", and put it in the specific collection. this, right now, usually takes a couple tries, but it will work. There are two ways you know it worked:
1. when you try to add the card again, you see a pink banner appear at the top that says "that card is already in the collection"
i should note: sometimes the card is added, but you still get the normal green banner that says the card has been added to the collection. which, of course, doesnt mean it did.)
2. in the second tab, click on the collection. is the card there? no? then go back to the other tab and add the card a couple times, then go back to the other tab. click on the "refresh grid button" in the collection. see if the card was added

i usually try adding 3 times before checking, unless im stopped by the pink banner first

**if you try 5 or 6 times to add, and it still doesnt, refresh your browser. i have had it hang on m a couple times, and refreshing it usually fixes it**

it certainly aint pretty, but it is working, and you got to have some patience with it. but for now, this is the workaround

oh, and note: you probably DONT want to add a card to trash unless you really dont want to have it back in a a collection anytime soon. because you cant remove any card from any collection, including trash. but adding a card to trash may or may not work yet - havent tested it because i dont want to chance it

---------------------------

no, you cant add a card to a specific collection outside organize, but you can add it to your organize generally (all items). that works cleanly.

also, right now we cant remove items from a collection, so make sure you really want something in a collection

--------------------------

Hope yall find this helpful

very important edit

if if add a bunch of cards to your organize, and want to add them all to one collection, it's wicked easy:

1. add cards from outside organize to organize.
2. go to recently added. using advanced search, select the have column, equal, and enter the quantity as zero.
3. check all that you want to add (for me, it would be all of them. all cards in my organize already have a quantity greater than 0, all my new cards that i just added equal zero), then add to collection.
4. when adding all the new cards, it usually works the first time or me. but it may take a second time, as described above

one more edit

got this message from another user:

I cant add cards to any collection. i've tried it with different cards, about 7-8 times per card and it doesnt seem to do anything - no errors, no pink or green banner. Well, i do get a green one saying "sucessfully added" the first time i try it, but after the first try, when i hit the dropdown to choose the collection to add to, i only see the one i attempted to add to the last try, and i get no further banners.

solution!
when you go to add a card the second time, click "add to". you will only see the collection you previously entered. hover your cursor in the field, then delete the last character. there you will see the collection again, but something you can actually click on.
(if that isnt clear, i can do screenshots if anyone needs it)

sounds more complicated than it is.

adding cards to organize is lightning fast, faster than it has ever been on the old site

and right now, im able to add about 75-90 cards an hour to specific collections, if im doing it individually

oh, totally forgot to add something that REALLY speeds up adding times. come back for the edit

I hear ya. I just have so little confidence in the site right now I am not doing anything that I may have to end up re-doing later.
