A nice auction with a horrible title...
cocutt Wrote::lol: Hi guys. I did not mean to offend anyone at all. It is a joke and everyone should lighten up. I am not trying to piss anyone off at all. Have you ever laughed at Andrew "Dice" Clay or Chris rock? I feel sorry for everyone that has to be PC and so serious. Anyone that knows me will tell you I like to joke around and I have a warped sense of humour. Well I'll be off, Maybey I will fall off my bike and hit a tree like Sonny Bono. Ok, you were trying to be funny. Now it's time to admit it didn't work out and it wasn't funny. I'm lightened up, and quite a lot actually. I have a great sense of humor, and am not very offended by crude humor, but you have to draw the line at some point. There's a difference between crude humor and being plain crude. |

Quote:Call me old if you like (I'm 37), but I prefer a time where men acted like gentlemen, and respectfulness and caring about the feelings of others was not something to be mocked.I'm your age and I don't remember a time like that? Thats called a Fantasy TV land era. Especially when we were born, in the Midst of Hippies, Massive Drug use, Free Love, War Protestors, the Birth of Disco, Ball Players on Cocaine...On the other side we Had Racists Facists Militants bitching about "Long Hairs" and how "back in the good old days, the world was ..." which I suspect is BS too. I don't ever remember a time when Men acted like gentlemen and respect and all that. People Mock people all the time. I don't see why everyone got all bent out of shape over this. It is what it is. With the Freedom of Speech Comes the Freedom to be offended. If you want one you need to learn to live with the other. |

A nice auction with a horrible title...
Just read this thread and have only one thing to say. Who the heck cares who the Cory fellow is and how he is such a great guy in gthe hobby, it was a stupid thing to put in his auction title and there is no way to justify it. It was stupid, no arguement needed.
P.S. I guess I have a second thing to say. Imagine telling someone to lighten up about it when say, one of Heatleys or Snyders family sees this auction title? Should they lighten up after they react to seeing this insensitive crap? A young man died and people say to "lighten up" in regards to joking about it? Wow, I'm done. |

A nice auction with a horrible title...
As mentioned before putting that on an auction title makes no sense...at all. I don't care who owns the auction but it was a stupid comment to place on an auction.
As for Heatley he is living with the death of a friend everyday. Heatley went to court and received a verdict. I find it funny that a bunch of people on a message board is saying what he should have got. Now people here are better at the criminal system then a judge:roll: These people need to get over it and move on. |

bruins4413 Wrote:This is a truely HORRIBLE title Ummmm.... that Carey Price was NOT part of this auction though. The auction that you posted was for only the 11 rookies in the first picture, not all those other cards like the Price jersey card, Sakic RC and all those different KSA graded cards. Those other pics were for different auctions, he even has some of them running now. But yeah, wow very scary auction titles, too bad he doesn't have any really good cards

And he went to court and received his judgement. Its called an accident for a reason, it was an accident. Why do these boards insist on bringing up these issues years after it has happened. Between Bertuzzi and Heatley there have been more then enough post for everyone to express their opinons. The Heatley incident happened years ago, its time that the hockey HOBBY CARD COLLECTORS move on.
Alberts we get the point but the case is over, move on, get over it. allberts (formerly CAPSIN99) Wrote:fly4apuckguy Wrote:I don't know. Look, it just turned out badly...but how many times have we sped and gotten away with it? |

bruins4413 Wrote:This is a truely HORRIBLE title I dont think most of those pictures are part of that auction. THe description is only for the 11 Private Stock Rookies. I doubt the other pics, including the price, are included. The winner would surely have a legitimate gripe so I am very glad I am not involved in that one. |

I posted yesterday to let people know that the guy who wrote the words in question, did not do so will ill intent. Tasteless? Sure. Worthy of ostracization? No.
Cory does not need to apologize to anyone especially Beckett board members. Life is a stage. Comedians don't have special licenses. If you can't see it as just that and move on, then I truly feel sorry for you (and your family). Sticks and stones and cars. |
