That was pretty tough, and it was fun too. I learned a lot about old football cards from all that. lol ![]() Collecting: Alfonso Soriano and Boston Red Sox |

davidmichaeljones Wrote:that was a hard question, how did u know that I done some research, if you take the clues it is actually pretty easy to find out, if you have the OPG. I was only 10 in 1990, so there is no way I would of remembered that. ![]() Co llecting - Joe Montana 509/3440 - 1999 Sp Sig Autos 30/132 - 2003 LL Threads At the Half 7/100 I can only ship on Wednesdays due to my work schedule. |

Gooze214 Wrote:Ridiculously wild guess but based off of the prior replies. Now youre putting the clues together and thinking...Its not right but you still have two guesses. Pro Sets prizes were not issued in packs, like these were. The Pro Set Contests were not actual cards pulled from packs. In this instance, the pulled card was redeemable for the prize, as opposed to the Pro Set scenario where the contest resulted in the card. ADDITIONAL MAJOR HINTS:: The year is 1990... The card pulled was redeemable for a major, major, valuable prize. Thus the scarcity. There were other cards that were significantly short printed that were redeemable for prizes. http://s1014.photobucket.com/albums/af262/dayton310/ DO NOT TRADE: MGRUBER2 DO NOT TRADE: MGRUBER2 R.O.A. MontanaCollector1619 Wrote:1990 British Petroleum #2 Deion Sanders WINNER WINNERCHICKEN DINNER...PM ME YOUR ADDRESS AND I WILL SEND IT OUT...HERE IS SOME INFORMATION TO BACK THIS UP: THERE IS NO PHOTO OF THE DEION...IT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PULLED OUT OF THE "PACKS," WHICH CAME IN 2 CARD PERFORATED PACKS. ONE SIDE HAD THE BP LOGO WITH A CARTOONISH FOOTBALL PLAYER, WHILE THE OTHER SIDE OF EACH PACK CONTAINED THE RULES OF THE GAME AND THE ODDS. HERE IS WHAT THE PACKS LOOKED LIKE, GIVEN AWAY FREE AT LOCAL CALIFORNIA BP GAS STATIONS...I SHOULD KNOW, I WOULD BEG MY DAD TO GO TO BP ALL THE TIME JUST TO GET THESE COOL LOOKING CARDS ![]() MORE IMPORTANTLY, LOOK CLOSELY AT THE BACK OF THE ELWAY CARD, THIS IS THE "RULES SIDE" OF THE OUTER PACK, THAT DOUBLED AS THE CARD BACK FOR ONE OF THE TWO CARDS ON THE INSIDE OF THE PACK. ON IT, NEAR THE BOTTOM, YOU CAN SEE THE ODDS OF WINNING THE GRAND PRIZE, WHICH WAS $10,000 (NOT SURE IF IT WAS CASH OR IN GAS), REDEEMABLE BY PULLING THE DEION SANDERS...OF WHICH THERE WAS ONLY ONE IN EXISTANCE... ![]() THUS, THE FIRST PACK PULLED ONE OF ONE WAS BORN: 1990 BP DEION SANDERS 1/1 MAJOR CONGRATS TO MONTANA COLLECTOR ON ANSWERING WHAT I VIEWED AS A VERY TOUGH QUESTION. http://s1014.photobucket.com/albums/af262/dayton310/ DO NOT TRADE: MGRUBER2 DO NOT TRADE: MGRUBER2 R.O.A. davidmichaeljones Wrote:that was a hard question, how did u know that I knew it from research and personally having lived it...lol. Then just realizing last week that only one grand prize existed, which was a card. I have only seen one prize winner available for sale, the $5 prize card of Andre Tippett...of which 990 were made...in 1990...and required being redeemed to get the measly $5...so good luck finding more than 20 of those around. http://s1014.photobucket.com/albums/af262/dayton310/ DO NOT TRADE: MGRUBER2 DO NOT TRADE: MGRUBER2 R.O.A.
