i pulled one out of a box i bought and its an artist's sketch of roger maris on the back it says 1/1 just curious cuz i couldn't find it anywhere.

Can't give out pricing on the boards, but posting a scan might at least help with id'ing the card!  Always feels good to pull a card that has 1/1 stamped on it, congrats!!

Does that apply to cards that aren't priced in the OPG?  I always thought it was just to make sure people weren't giving away the price guide.

I pulled a sketch card a couple of years back, too.  I never really thought much of it, and was even more confused this year when I started pulling those blank "you sketch it" cards.  Are the sketch cards just reissues of what some fan submitted?  Or are they actually commissioned?

Beckett most certainly frowns upon the idea of members publishing the OPG via these boards.  Members reporting the prices of cards listed as "No pricing due to scarcity" in the OPG seems a moot point since the owner of such a card can really determine whatever value they desire.  You can always check completed listings of similar cards and monitor sales via the world wide web to see what other Maris sketch cards sold for..

Basically what the above poster said.  The prohibition is against giving out Beckett book values to non-subscribers (unless you are trading with that person - in which case it's OK to discuss things privately).

Discussions of what the board thinks an appropriate BV on a non-priced card is fine, as is a discussion of sale values, etc.
