Todays Slab Mail
Fed Ex finally arrived. A couple days late perhaps because of the Plains ice storm and a bunch of BS (blowing snow) in my area. A five card 10-day sub only because I needed two cards slabbed for gifts. The three in the scan will be unloaded to help defray the cost of my pending 100 card sub. Sheets is one of my favorite pitchers and Retro/Future Refractor is probably the rarest card from his rookie year. I won't let it slide cheap. It is the only 9.5 with the next highest graded being an 8.5. That said, the card isn't all that appealing to me. The other two guys are prospects. Mulvey has potential to crack the rotation this year if the Mets don't trade him. The xfractor cards look real sharp whwn they are well centered and do not contain the lines. This was the first card I ever got a 10 sub grade on oustide of centering.

Update: Sheets card sold for $125 BO on eBay. I think my wife will be a little more accepting of me getting more periodic subs to BGS when she sees that one.
Update 2: Mulvey sold for $48. Now have 1/3 of the future 100 card sub paid.

That is very odd. I put a call in on that. How can they authenticate it but not say who's sig it is.

TeamStussy Wrote:I just received this in the mail today. This is the highlight of my collection. I doubt there are many of his early signatures out there on a ticket stub from when he hit his 1st MLB HR. I am happy to have it slabbed now. I just wish the label referenced the accomplishment somehow.

BGS does have a custom label you can get for a small extra fee, I don't see why they couldn't do it for this item as it already has lots of free space because of not having a set and year listing. Awesome item by the way and thanks for posting the JSA/BGS slab. Are you able to add it to your resgistry?
