What's all the hoopla about Yankee Stadium closing this year?
Sure, first reaction of people will be "He's just a jealous Mets fan", but that isnt the case.
The "Yankee Stadium" that is closing in the Bronx this year is NOT the "House that Ruth Built" Does everyone seem to forget 1973 - 1975? THIS here: was historic, thats not whats there in 2008 |

It's really the name, and the prestige of the piece of land "Yankee Stadium" has been on all this time. Now it's moving across the street, and not on same piece of land.
It's a big thing, but I think some media outlets are taking advantage. |

I'm going because I want to see monument park, and well to say I was in the stadium that Billy Martin kicked dirt at the umps in, Lou gehrig made his famous speech, Babe Ruth hit all those dingers, Roger Maris belted some of his 61 homers, Mantle made history, Reggie Jackson crushed those homers in the 1978 world series, The stadium my favorite players, A-Rod and Jeter called home, and so many championships called home. While it isn't the house that Ruth built technically, it's still a big piece of history.

How many stadiums can you name where visiting players show up early so they can take a tour?
