Basically my point is there is just a TON of product out there... again, this is Panini alone.
I love low-end stuff as well but they should keep it limited to just a few products.  Otherwise they're going to kill the industry and then we have to find the next big thing besides auto's, patches, and game used.  What's next?  A logoman in every box?  Ya know?

I will say though... I love the creativity Panini is putting behind some of their stuff.

Rookie year jerseys and patches and logomen, championship season swatches and patches, Christmas cards with the Xmas day swatches... I even got a green Luol Deng national treasures that was pulled from this years St. Pat's Day game.
They are doing some very interesting things with the GU stuff and it helps that it's not "just another jersey card".

i agree one hundred percent, i love some of the things panini is doing, but they dont need to put out to many products.

It seems like a lot of product but there were far less NBA licensed products released this year than in the last few years. The problem is that most of what was released in 2009-10 was Panini, so there was little product from Upper Deck or Topps to break up the monotony.

There will be even less NBA licensed products in the 2010-11 season as there will be zero Topps and Upper Deck products.

also, to the opg, people on ebay are selling the lebron heat cards from this product and stating they are a case hit, i dont know if its true, but if it is, then i wouldnt feel bad about not getting one from 3 boxes.

I am so not a fan of Panini products.........very boring and almost the same card design for everything other than mid-high products.........i bought a bunch of their stuff earlier in the year and was completely disappointed......i look for older b-ball cards now......and as much as everyone has a problem with upper deck....i still feel as if its a better product and i've pulled something fantastic from ud 75% of the time......now quality control is another issue lol<!--Session data-->nclick="if(typeof(jsCall)=='function'){jsCall();}else{setTimeout('jsCall()',500);}" />

I was under the impression that U.D. owned all collegiate licensing...couldn't they put out the same products as usual with players in college uniforms?

There just isn't the same demand for college cards as there is for NBA cards. There is no doubt that Upper Deck will release some college product in the 2010-11 season but it won't be NBA licensed and it won't contain autos from most of the current NBA players that have NBA players association contracts with Panini or individual exclusive contracts with Panini.

Could you imagine 10 products all similar to the 2009-10 Upper Deck Greats of the Game? It wouldn't sell and would bankrupt a company that is quite possibly on the verge of bankruptcy already.

i def wouldnt want more products like greats of the game, lol. for some dumb reason i picked up the base set off of ebay then i went and bought a box and completed another set lol. i wont buy anymore of these boxes.

But I doubt you would want 10 different products with exactly the same college theme and the exact same retired player autos and minimal hits of active NBA stars. I would get sick of it pretty quickly.

At least Panini has the option of using retired players, current stars and rookies to liven up multiple products. Even then it starts getting stale after a while, especially now that there will be no Topps Chrome, Upper Deck Exquisite etc.
