ebay dilemma
Need some advice.
Right now, currently leading in an auction for a card that ends tonight. After reading some negative things about the seller on here, I went back and checked his feed back and was not impressed, a little worried. Now, I may lose the auction and this be a null point. But is there anyway to retract my bid? If not, what is the danger, as a buyer, in not paying.

Thanks for any advice, I know I should have checked his detailed feedback first, but he had a good percentage, just a lot of negatives recently.

Go to the help tab on the top of ebays home page or My ebay and type in retract bid. It is pretty clear from there. Wait a few hours and make sure your not outbid because it will show you retracted your bid for a year or something like that on your feedback page.

Just went to the help page and saw this:

You cannot retract the bid during the last 12 hours of the listing, unless the seller agrees.

Please contact the seller to request that your bid be canceled. However, it is up to the seller's discretion whether or not to cancel your bid.

Does it really mess up my account if I win and don't pay?

If you win use paypal. If you don't receive the item in the condition stated you will get your $$ back

Yea I've just heard it can take a while (45 days sometimes) after you file your claim to get the money back. So that in addition to however long I have to wait for my card, I would rather just not go through with it. After hearing about the seller (everything from not shipping cards, to shipping slow and not communication, to shilling his auctions), I really just wish I wouldn't have bid.
