bgrecco18 Wrote:Im a PGA professional, we are fortunate enough to get into all events (including majors) for free and I would say the US Open suprisingly enough is the one event the most tickets come across my desk on. Especially being back on the east coast I should be able to help. PM me and I will give you my contact info.
PM sent.

Bethpage is a fun venue.
However, they shuttle bus you in from Jones Beach where they have a HUGE parking lot.

Went there when Tiger won.....

I live in walking distance to Winged Foot, so that's my favorite by far!!

"Favorite" to have a tournament at.....
I did get to play there once in 2000, it's a great course. I used to use a consulting engineer named Jim White who was a member, unfortunately he passed away in '02.
There are like 5 courses within a couple of miles, Winged Foot, Bonnie Briar, Quaker Ridge, Fenway, Scarsdale Golf, Maple Moor, and Saxon Woods (The last two are public, and the other 4 are like 5-6 figure buy in private clubs.

IMO the Trophey Club is a joke. What are you at the course for, to watch golf live on the course or to sit in an AC tent???
Went to Hazeltine in 2002 for the PGA Championship, was a blast. Trust me, the last thing you want to do it get Trophey Club tix. You want to be where the action is. Do you want to have the possibility to see Tiget hit that magnificiant shot into #14 or whatever hole, or would you rather be in a tent have a filet mignon???

Get regular grounds tickets. Go to a practice round where you can interact with the players, ie chat with them, get some autos, take pictures, etc. Then get at least one day of championship round tix, however if you can get two days, all the better. My suggestion, get either Thursday or Friday, so you can walk the course, pick out some holes to sit on and enjoy. The either Saturday or Sunday and sit on #18, you wont regret it. That is where you see some great action. Remember the last three days at this years Open, all of the big time shots and putts happened on 18.

Most of all, have fun. Golf is 10x better in person than on TV.
