WOW What a great contest I can't enter.LOL What a great thing to do. Like others I dont have much hi end stuff and that would be an unbelievable card to get. Hope it goes to the nicest Harvin fan. Again very nice of you.

1) My grandmother gave me a bunch of Pete Rose cards as a child she got at a yard sale and ever since ive been hooked
2) As most of you know Im a huge bengals fan but the Vikings are my #2 team. Im a big fan of Harvin but couldn't afford to buy his cards on top of the Bengals. (I honestly am a big fan of the Vikings I have an authentic peterson jersey, 8x10 autos gu/auto cards ect of the Vikings)
3) Suh-Although he is just a lineman I think he has the best talent out of all the starting rookies and I plan on seeing him acheive great success.

A: I started collecting when I was six. My father and brother were really into it and I attended many card shows with them. I received some boxes and packs as gifts over the years and put together a small but fairly nice collection. I really got back into serious collecting a few years and have a nice collection of all my favorite players.


B: I have been collecting Kobe Bryant, Chris Johnson, Mark Sanchez and Percy Harvin forthe last couple years. I have a fairly nice Harvin RC collection but nothing really high end. The best pull I ever had was a couple months ago when a boughta rack pack of 2009 Topps Platinum and got a Percy Harvin Red Refractor 25/25.There is no way I would ever sell it and I think the black refractor auto would be a great counterpart to it. The reason that I started collecting Percy Harvin was that he really caught my eye when he played for Florida. He seemed likesuch a versatile player whether he was running a reverse or catching a pass across the middle or returning a punt. He reminded me of much better version of Peter Warrick back in his heyday at FSU. Also living in Montana I really don't have a"local" team to root for and the Vikings are my second favorite team behind the Buccaneers. I watched almost every Vikings game last season and also had Percy Harvin on two of my fantasy football teams. He is also my favorite target when playing Madden football when he isn't dominating out of the wildcat I am a huge fan and would really love to win this awesome card. Thanks for putting on such a cool contest.


C: I am going to have to go with Gerald McCoy.The Buc's defense has never been the same since Sapp, Lynch, and Rice left. They haven't had a decent pass rusher even though Chris Hovan is serviceable. Barrett Ruud is a great linebacker and they have some young db's that look promising but I think we will see a big improvement in their defensive rankings and also in the win column with the addition of McCoy. Plus he is a great personality that gives this defense an identity.$0

pbeanjr's on vacation with his Mom this week, so I'll try to answer on his behalf if I may .....

A) how they got into the football hobby

pbeanjr just recently caught the football "bug" ..... his primary focus (up till about just over a year ago) was Pokemon, Yugi-Oh and Chaotic.

B) why they collect harvin

pbeanjr doesn't focus on just "one" player (except for Josh Freeman) but he does collect cards of all the 2009 draft class, and he has amassed quite a variety of them so far.
He doesn't pick and choose where he's gonna focus next, but I'm sure seeing some of the great PC's here influences that direction from time to time (hence his Brian Robiske PC) and while I try to get him to buy other years (including 2010) he feels that this past years draft was the strongest one yet.

C) what 2010 rookie they think will have the biggest impact and why...

we both feel Jahvid Best has the brightest future ahead of him

I hope you don't mind me replying for him, because I know if he were here he'd be nippin' at the bud to get a reply in for him

A) I started collecting when I was very young(roughly 7-8 years old), because one day when my father and I were cleaning out his garage I found a box with his old baseball card collection. I had no idea he collected when he was younger, and in fact I knew barely anything to nothing about this fantastic hobby. When we finished the much needed cleaning job, we went through his collection for HOURS. He had all the greats-Mantle, Berra, Fisk, Ruth, Yount, Killebrew, and So, SO many more. He told me that he and his friends used to collect when they were younger, and he also told me how much fun they had buying packs and trading their nice pulls with each other to improve their collections! When I got home, I searched the house to realize I didn't have very many cards at all(and NONE were GU/AU), so I decided to give the hobby a shot and see if I could truly enjoy it like my father had. Now I have tons and tons of great cards via eBay purchases, pack and box openings, etc...
The only difference is that my all-time favorite sport is the NFL, and my dad's is MLB, so I mainly collect Football rather than Baseball
B) In the beginning of this past football season, I had high hopes for my Florida boy Harvin. I always saw him as a stud in college and I really hoped that he'd have a great season, even with all the other WR competition(Crabtree, Maclin, Nicks, etc...), and not to mention that he also had to compete with the likes of getting the ball when there are guys like Adrian Peterson, Sidney Rice, Chester Taylor, and many others competing for it as well. I was SUPER stoked when he had such a fantastic Rookie season, and was not surprised at all by his naming of the Rookie of the Year. I was really dissapointed when they lost to the Saints in the NFC Championship, but I do have very high hopes and expectations for Harvin and the Vikings this season as well! I used to "super collect", but with my current income and budget it was way to hard. I only have 1 auto of his at the time, but I always try to get his stuff off the bay, LCS, etc... when I can. He is one of my favorite players from one of my favorite Draft Classes of All-Time, so I wish him the absolute best of luck with his future career in the NFL! I also wish that those migraines stop affecting him, the NFL is brutal enough where he shouldn't have to deal with those as well as what he already has to deal with already.
C) I look at Dexter McCluster and see him having the biggest impact of any Rookie from this 2010 Draft Class. He reminds me of Chris Johnson, a super quick back out of a nice(but not huge) name Football school with a whole lot of talent. Sure he'll have to deal with Jamaal Charles being in the backfield as well, but I think with his incredible speed, small size to be able to run unseen behind massive Offensive Lineman, and with his great moves, I think he'll surprise many people and experts out there and become a star this year!
So best of luck to Dexter, Percy, and everyone else in this great idea! Thank you so much 8379ctburr for this great idea and the generosity to be willing to give up such a beautiful card! I'm so glad to be a part of this fantastic community!

Courtesy bump for a great contest. I especially love how a bunch of people have posted only to wish the true Harvin collectors luck. I am a Harvin fan, but I definitely don't super-collect him as many others do. Here's hoping a true fan wins the BEAUTIFUL Harvin...way to go 8379!!!

A) how they got into the football hobby- I started in the hobby  with baseball. Then proceded to basketball then football. I started collecting all sports after the first time I went to Sams. At christmas time you could find these large candy  canes that were filled with packs of cards from multi-sports. I  think they were like $20.00. I had so much fun opening these packs on the ride back home with my parents. Never pulled anything major but had a lot of fun with them. Still think I have some of them to this day, but cant find those candy canes there anymore. :{ 



B) why theycollect harvin- I tend to pull for the three major Florida teams. Even now with Miami and Florida State being awfull. Harvin is such a great receiver with much talent. I loved watching the Florida teams even as a kid. Seeing Harvin with Tebo was so exciting. Reminded me of some of the great combos in the NFL. It also helps that he has Favre throwing to him to help coach him along. Harvin will be a great player now and in times to come.



C) what 2010 rookie they think will havethe biggest impact and why...- I believe Suh will have the biggest impact. Sorry to the Lions fans but he is on an up and coming team. He will be the best player on the defense. He is a huge player who is going to demand double teams which will allow someone else to get free. Not to mention the impact he will have when he gets a tackle. I can see QBS being very worried looking across the line when the blits is coming.
