Third, and this is for Dr. J, I take ESPN over basketball reference anyday of the week!LOL basketball reference!!!emoticon Never heard of it. That is how good it must be!

Sixth, Dr. J so for you Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron are not the greatest baseball players in the history of the game right?? I have nothing else to state here, you are entitled to your own opinion although it is biased.

There is no Bias here, from someone with a Jordan shoe logo as his avatar. LOL.

If you picked ESPN over basketball reference, you would not have access to statistics over the years. So based on your argument which contains zero hard numbers, it appears that is your choice. You won't get historical stats on this evenings sports center.

Not sure why you are asking about Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron in reference to Basketball. I rank Jordan second all time right now. That could change down the road, but that is a pretty good spot in my opinion.

Actually my top three in Baseball would be :

Ruth -- No one from his era was even close and his records stood for close to a century
Aaron -- Did it for the long run and did it cleanly
T. Williams - Would have most likely been number 1 all time if he did not give up close to 5 years of his prime career to serve our country. Look at his numbers and realize just how ridiculous they would have been. The best hitter from the past 75 years.

I was just making an analogy between baseball and basketball. I was trying to prove that although the league has gotten better in baseball, same as basketball according to many of the people here, the old school players would excel in todays game. I don't think that Jordan played in an easier league during the 90's, I actually think the league was tougher, and find it a bit difficult to see why people would consider Kobe in the same level as him. I like kobe but he does not have Jordan's killer instinct or his basketball IQ. The comparison with Lebron is even more off. Lebron has not even proven himself and people say he is the best. I understand people comparing kobe with Jordan, although jordan is way better, but come on Lebron????

But you can't compare championships when you are comparing players. ONE player does not win a championship and I am sorry but Jordan would have been in the same boat without kerr, grant, rodman, and pippen. He had a good surrounding cast. When saying a player was great you can't bring championships into play. You can use championships when talking about teams!

Defense does not always cause turn overs. Did you ever play basketball. Players make stupid mistakes half of the time and then the other half of the time defense causes the turnovers. So say a guy throws an Alley-oopp and the play is a screw up. Defense did not cause that. A player trys to make a pass that should not be made. That is a  bad decision on the offenses part. Those plays happen the majority of the time. Its call Ball-Handling, and composure

Rodman came to the bulls after the first three peat. Steve kerr and Horace Grant weren't superstars! Pippen is the only one I give you because he was a beast. Lebron had a very good supporting cast this year and didn't even beat Boston. Jordan did not have that great of a cast, he made them good!!!! Thing lebron has not done because his badketball IQ is not at an optimum level yet!!!

it's actually called an unforced turnover. js lol. while it's true that unforced turnovers happen with certain goon players from time to time, most of the time the turnovers are caused by defense.$0

why are we even comparing Kobe to MJ shouldn't we be comparing to Kobe to Jerry West.  I was around when West was playing but I see a lot of similarities between him and Kobe. I know a lot of stats weren't around most of West's career. West had more assists. West had more points per game. and check out the last year of West's career when they started counting steals he could have broken Kobe's steals records for a single season in his last year of his career if he played at least 70 games that year. I know West only had one championship but he was a better scorer and defender than kobe. and MJ greatest of all time

yes, actually i played basketball for 10 years, and i also stated stupid plays cause turnovers.  but please, defense is the main contributor to turnovers.

Oh dear lord. You officially just lost all credibility. Basketball-reference is the online basketball statistics bible.
