I want my money back! This is unbelievable!

Bonds, from what I know, they had a buyer sometime around beginning of year, maybe a little after. That company is huge and plan on making the $$$ investment to make the site better, more reliable and faster.  The company that bought Beckett from an investment firm is a publishing company that has site's for their other mags as well so they SHOULD know how to deliver.  I'll give it to end of year to see improvement based on time lines I've been told.  If not by then, I'm gone!  And,no, they are not getting my money at this time.  Did not re-up on my OPG until the site is fixed. I don't have enough time to dilly dally with the fickle nature of the site when I have two kids that need my attention as well.

Scott,
I have heard the same thing...promises etc...
2 years of promises so far..I have faith, but there is a limit...
End of the year huh??  I guess I can limp along until then..still paying my OPG..can not live without it

That said..I think i will start a thread about what people LIKE about Beckett!!

its not a glitch, many have already fled. give it a shot though. i personally wont renew unless its fixed but after 2 years on here i figure i'll give it till the end of this year. it really is sad though, i've never seen a site work this badly. my friend builds websites in his spare time for local companies and he is appauled at this sites "glitches". from what he said, any high schooler could build this site in less then a month in spare time, and have it working better. but thats not saying much, high schoolers are alot more savvy with this stuff then anyone in my generation.

$$$ is needed to get this right and having read these threads for the past year, I have drawn these conclusion..
1. There is a $$ drain now..people are leaving and canceling the OPG etc
2. Without $$$..they can not fix the site.
3. Without fresh $$$ and investment..no site fix and further crashes
4. Further crashes = more people leaving = less $$$ for improvements...
5. Less $$ = no more Beckett.com....

Awful to say..but economic reality and present day to day operations = doom...

Again..my 2 cents...no need to kill me over this..
Hope I am wrong...

as i said in my last post i have a friend that does this in spare time for fun and a lil $$. according to him the domain name is the most expensive part aside from servers. my little company that i can bet has 1/10 the revinue of beckett. has a site built by my buddy, runs amazingly fast and has over 18k unique visitors per week. i realize that beckett has more visitors but we put our site up with less then 5 grand servers and all.

I believe you totally nailed the problem right there. Everyone's leaving - no newbies with the down economy - beckett's taking what's left of the money and running. They'll be in chapter 11 in less than 6 months.

Unless there are a bunch of joke responses, that kind of thread will die quickly!

So what you are saying is that because members won't pay for the crappy site that doesn't work, they don't have the money to fix it?

Glad we know it isn't Beckett's fault. emoticon

Free market system takes care of the trash by itself, bad products disappear when people do not buy.  As it stands now, the business outlook for Beckett.com is not good..unless someone takes over that product, cleans it up and makes it worth buying, customers return, profit made, more improvements and usually an even better product.
But, it takes capital and not bailouts...incentive and not regulation..

The president's address needs to be read by all and then hold the dates as a firm commitment.
