BOOOOOOOOOO. I kinda feel that he really hurt his rep by doing this. Yes not everyone wants to play in the desert. But Gretzky as a coach, Turris, Mueller and other very good prospects to play with, and Shane Doan as a mentor. Seems like a pretty good situation to turn down, to go to a team that may not be getting any better anytime soon.(SORRY B'S FANS)

Not sure what to think of this one. Looks like he's got some good potential and could help the Bruins in the scoring department, but he also seems like a huge ***** who thinks he is above the game. Turning down being coached by The Great One and playing on a team with a very bright future... hopefully this isn't Lindros II.

I think he should have signed with he Yotes, but there was an entire thread about that move.
In my opinion, he thinks he is much better than he really is and he will play a total of 25 NHL games in his career.

I dont see how signing with the Bruins is gonna help him develop his game, much less grow as a player, but Im sure its the right choice for him.

Why would u want him to sign with the yotes if he is only going to play 25 games in his career??? I agree he should have signed there and I am a Bruins fan... I am not big on what he did but oh well. Guess time will tell. Hope to see him start in Prov. so I can see him IP in Portland

I don't know why everyone makes a big deal about players playing for Gretzky. They're not playing [b]with]/b] him, he's just a regular coach now. I don't see a problem with what Wheeler did, this is a guy born in Minnesota, raised around hockey all his life and probably feels like a lot of people on the East Coast and up north feel. That even though Phoenix might have a bright future, the biggest hockey towns and fans still think it should be one of the team that should be gone (yes, there has been several topics on that, too)

He's the best player in the history of the game...probably has some wisdom to share.

In five years, Blake Wheeler is a footnote. No one will remember him. Just a hunch.

BTW, this can't be Lindros II (that was mentioned by someone else). Lindros was a superstar before he played a game in the NHL. Wheeler? He's a nobody.
