Thought his interview was very classy. If anyone else heard it, chime in. Said something like he (and all other NFL players) get paid way too damn much to play a game. Sounds very modest and classy. Gained a fan.

Yeah its easy to say that when your the highest paid DT in NFL history.

I wonder what he would have said had they offered him a 5 year 5 million (still a lot of damn money) contract. :?:

He really is a good guy. He is from Killeen TX(where I live). He does alot for the community, youth football camps, after school programs. He must have used some of that money and put it back into our community, he just opened up a new youth center. He is o.k in my book.

He has said this long before his big payday. He has said that they get paid a kings ransome to play a kids game. He has always been big on charity organizations and things like this. He is a very good person. Even though ahtletes do get paid an insane amount of money anyone who could play in the nfl would attempt to get as much money as they can. We all try to get as much as we can at our jobs. Yes I know he probably already has enough money ten times over, but we all want to get paid what we feel our market value is in our job areas.

For the record, I don't think I've ever picked up an issue of the Oklahoma Gazette without it having at least one blurb in it about Tommie Harris doing something charity-oriented. He'll be the NFL Man of the Year sooner than later, probably.

Honestly, I say that they get payed way too damn much, but I would take a $10 Million payday anyday if I were playing in the NFL. You shoot for your market value, and with such a grueling sport, there is no doubt players should try and get as much as they can. Next thing they could realize is that they are out with a career ending injury and can't work and have very limited ways to get funds.

He agrees that the market value is too high, but if anyone was offered $10 million you cannot say they wouldn't take it. It's these players like TO, JaMarcus, and all these other players who hold out for more money as if they aren't getting enough already. He signed the contract and said it went smoothly.

Plus, if he does all that work for charities and youth organizations, maybe he is taking alot of that money and going to put it toward a nice cause. Therefore, more money he earns, the more money he has expendable toward a cause as a charity or youth organization.
