no because it was real close after watching it a ton but if he overturned it then he would have to go back and look at pappas no hitter and see if it was a blown call to make it a perfect game suck but that baseball

Although I do agree if they overturned that call there would be a whole bunch of issues arise

I don't think it was close at all. He had it by atleast 1 1/2 feet. I think they should have overturned this one and from now on use Instant Replay for anything they have doubts about. It's sad for Pappas but that was what in 1962 or something? This happened less thna 24 hours ago. This should have been the first one. It is a joke. The Umpire admits he made a mistake, they should correct it.

Its never too late to do the right thing. Its not like it was the second play of the game, it was the final out of a perfect game. Over turn it and do the right thing. The guy was out by half a stride, it wasn't even close.

Yeah I saw that but he still had it secure 1 1/2 feet before the runner touched the base

I am not surprised because in my opinion Selig is a dead-beat commish.
But if I was the ump and even if it was a closer play I would have called him out knowing a perfect game was on the line.

Selig is the weak sister of sports, he is terrible, awful commissioner.
He can end an All-Star game in a tie (meaningless I know)..he turns his head away from steroid stuff for years...
But he can not overturn an obviously wrong call..not even close by the way.... for a young man who deserved the no-no perfecto..
Makes me sick as usual from Mr. Selig...pass the airsickness bag please!!
