I just hate this answer. Why even post? That is such an insanely easy, thoughtless, and obvious answer.

I mean, this is a baseball card message board. It's not as if this guy came in here asking how much to ask for his 1971 El Camino. If you can't ask a question about a card here, and get a decent answer, where do you turn? I'll bet if you had a question about the value of one of your cards, you would expect people to be helpful, and you'd get pissed off when you read useless responses like that.

And to the Original Poster....I'd look for somewhere between $20-$25 cash value or $40-$50ish trade value.

WOW, Rage much?emoticon

Dont think its just him. That answer annoys me as well. It just comes off to me as a cocky answer that you dont have any real input to.

Thank you....It's got nothing to do with rage.  I reserve my rage for much more important uses.

And if you don't want to be spoken to like you're an jerk, don't act like an jerk.

Frankly, I think it's a perfectly acceptable answer...and here's why I think so.

Most people that post these "how much is it worth" threads are under the impression that cards have a set market value - like a share of IBM or a postage stamp.  But that simply isn't true.

The same card can have wildly different sell values based on so many different factors, it's not possible to give an accurate 'dollar value' answer.

Yeah, the wording could be switched up once in a while so those of us who frequent the board don't have to see "it's worth whatever someone will pay for it" over and over...but the point is important to make.

This was exactly the point I was intending to make. I've seen the exact same card sell for two completely different amounts within days of each other. The fact remains that there are too many variables to give an absolute value. If you really want to know what it's worth at this point in time, list it for sale, auction style starting at $.99 and let it run. Did not mean to offend you IlDouche'.

It's perfectly acceptable to put something like "But, remember...A card is always worth only as much or as little as somebody will pay for it" at the end of a post.

However, although you are completely correct about the presence of many different factors which can affect the value of a card, coming up with a ballpark figure is definitely possible for just about any card out there.  I'm relatively certain that's all the original poster wanted.  Some input about what kind of price range this card should fall into.

Furthermore, if every person who posted in the thread did nothing but reply with the amount he/she would be willing to spend on the card, it would still go a long way toward providing the original poster an idea of what the card is worth.

Finally, I'm not sure if you, as a moderator, are actually compensated by the Beckett corporation.  But, if you are, I don't think they would take kindly to you voicing any kind of 'Pricing is an impossible task', given that the company's main source of income seems to be exactly that.

Beckett employee or not, I respect your opinion and your willingness to voice it.  I just don't happen to entirely agree with it.

As much as I hate to say it, I agree with its worth what someone will pay.. A sanders collector may drool over this card but its gotta be the right buyer/trader. A card that bv at 20$ might only be worth 20$ to an average person but if you find the right person who collects that player and needs that specific card and it grades high, you could get far more than its worth. Personally I have traded higher for a card I want because its a card i want rather than something that would be cool to have. Just my 2 cents.........

Actually, "RAINBOW" wasn't my word....The message board inputted that word in place of another word, which I thought sure would be allowed on the site.

Isn't their like a minimum age of 13 for this board; I have to wonder reading some of this thread, sorry if that offends anyone, but reality check.Anyways to put in my opinion, the card graded 9.5 had no actual BV, there for I feel the statement "What ever someone will pay" is legitimate. To me speaking I am not a Deion fan, and it is not a vintage card, and not what I would consider a veteran rookie card, therefore it has at the most maybe a $2.50 value to me. On the other hand, I am sure there are some true Deion collectors that would pay upwards of 15 and maybe even 20 for that card. So in essence it is what ever someone is willing to pay for it.Sorry if my post offends anyone; jmo.I vote that we all just get along, and trade some cards. There you go, if you want an opinion of what its worth, put it up for trade, and see what you can get for it.

Wish I could help out.  I would imagine that the audience for this particular card is going to be very small.  You've got the team collectors, player collectors, and then people who want a gold label with their card.  I don't imagine it going to high but I wouldn't be surprised at $15-$20.

Just my $.02.
