Ouestion/Opinions on Trading?
Clint, sorry if I didn't make myself as clear as I should have or its possible my message never got there.

I sent a message saying I would send all the Oliva I could without killing my Yaz collection. Oliva ends up on a lot of cards with Yaz. Also mentioned that it would be this week before I could do anything because of my Easter time work schedule. Don't know how many people work Grocery as a job but Easter is just like Christmas.

Anyway I will send a PM today if the system lets me...Mel

A slow Shipper, if not acceptable, then NO Trade please...Mel

Looking for the following: Older Players Jimmie Foxx, Ty Cobb, Bob Feller, Walter Johnson, Joe Jackson, Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Rogers Hornsby, Christy Mathewson, Ike and Bob Boone. New Brett/Aaron Boone, Jered Weaver, Brandon Webb.

Ouestion/Opinions on Trading?
As far as having PC items in my Organize. I always figured it was to everyones advantage to have as much listed as possible for trading.

Literally everything is for trade even PC but some won't be traded for some common card. Generally in cases like that I will ask for someones Addy and send them the card no strings attached. If I have duplicates there is no problem with any of them.

Here is a for instance in my case. I collect Angels cards and many big time players were on the Team at different times like Nolan Ryan. Except for Ryan Rookie cards everything except the Angels cards are for trade and I will even trade some of them if I have Dups. There are others, Reggie Jackson, Dave Winfield, Rod Carew and a few more. I'm sure this is the same situation with a lot of other collectors here and their Teams.

Unfortunately we aren't all good friends with knowledge of each others likes and wants. Mostly we live thousands of miles apart and except for a few hundred words passed through PMs we have NO idea who we are dealing with and the personalities involved.

Honestly,I don't completely understand some of the Tunnel Vision that goes on here. By that I mean people who are only willing to for XXXXX and nothing else. Variety is the spice of collecting and keeps the whole thing interesting.

Have stopped trading with those who are only Prospecting and those who only MINT+++ cards. To me all cards are NM/Mint at best right out of the pack and only grading can make this any different (lol, if you believe in grading).

Trading can be FUN but when it becomes a Job to trade with some, then I'd rather pass...JMO

I dont think of it as being picky. If you dont collect someone or some team, then why trade for it. I know I can be difficult because of the people I collect (see my sig) and there are not too many cards of Joe. I dont like trading for trade bait, because I feel like I traded a card that someone else might want for a card that I dont want.

Just sit back and enjoy the escape from the real world and have fun.

Are some Traders on Beckett just too hard to deal with?

...including myself...

Thats is part of it and then you have the ones who wants something for nothing. Not only that after being on here a while you start to learn some of the other traders personality and they learn yours. The each of us puts it in our minds am I going to trade with this person in the future or not. When I see a member new or old I read his comments, and If I see he is being a horses rear end for no reason at all on several threads I put him/her on my donot trade list. Until he has an attitude adjustment or he leaves. 95% of the trades I make go into my PC. The other 5% is because the other trader need that card(s) so I will trade with him and when I pick something I am looking for things I can move quickley for what I do want.

Most of my trades have been nothing short of superb.  Now, I am picky when it comes to condition, I admit that.  That may be hard for some people to swallow but that's just the way I am.  I ask for scans, inquire as to whether the condition marked in organize is correct, all that.  But, I try to make up for it by responding quickly and mailing quickly.  I am also one of those people who will "trade down" if the cards are right.  My biggest peeve is someone who offers a trade or who makes a post about wanting to trade and then takes days to respond.  If I am going to put up a trade post, I make sure I don't have a ton going on for the next couple of days so that I can respond.

Interested in EX-MT or better pre-'56 Cardinals, '53 Bowman Color & '74-'78 Topps.

Radarblip: I have traded with you and no problems.
54 Kill.. I have also traded with you and was easy to deal with.

Are we all hard to trade with. in a sense yes. We are all looking for something that we want for our PC. that is why we trade. To get cards we want. Some go over the top and find things for other people to help. the fact of trading up.... we have all ran into those people that want the higher end but have nothing to offer in close BV so they try. but then there are those that all they do is try to trade up. I have traded down if it is a card I need for my Edgar Martinez or one of the few sets I am working on. But in most cases I won't trade an $80 for 2 $40s like most people. For instance I finally have the 09 finest auto hanson. I am only trading it for specific things. Is that right or wrong. To some it may be ok others may not. Just try to remember to ahve funa nd enjoy what we have, not what we don't have.

I collect: Edgar Martinez
Vintage (Needed 68 and 71 Topps and other Vintage)

Lol, we all say and do things that aren't always the best but this two dimentional does not allow us any depth and sometimes its hard to read between the lines as to what people really mean/say.

In the end I would not much is going to change here and there will be some of us that are still going to be hard to deal with...

Trade On!
