St Louis area card shops
I'm heading to St Louis later this month and was wondering if anyone knew of any good shops in that area to stop into?

I don't typically open wax, so I'm not too concerned about the selection or prices of boxes. I'm more looking for shops that have a good selection of singles at fair prices. Or perhaps, friendly shop owners who regularly buy or trade for singles.

I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

you are better off getting a map of all the suburbs and searching by cities. all the towns run into each other down here. i know the show at two of hearts banquet hall is a pretty good show and there was some nice stuff at the machinists hall show when i went. both are easy to find and will be listed in beckett if one is going on while in town. another member told me of a shop downtown st charles but i have not been there. if you find out some shops hit me with an email or pm and i will check them out too...

If you are here next weekend (June 20/21), there is a show down at the Scotttrade Center for HockeyFest 2008 that should have plenty of baseball stuff as well. As far as shops go don't even try to find singles, none of the shops in the area have a good selection. Sports Card Dugout on Watson and 1,000,000 Baseball Cards on Manchester both have good selections of current wax though.

Yeah, thats how it seemed the last time I visited... but that was almost a decade ago. Unfortunately I won't be in town for any of the shows that go on in the area, or I would have definitely tried them out. No shows... Cardinals are out of town... does anyone have any suggestions for things to do besides the usual arch, zoo, etc?

Thanks for the replys.

Have you ever been to the City Museum? It's a pretty neat place to go. Also there's a brand new casino downtown.
