USPS to propose a 5-day mail schedule?!?!?!?!
Yea, no matter how you slice it, its not good either way. Im actually a PTF with close to 5 yrs under my belt, we have over 200 routes, but we would still probably lose a few people, and it is tough. I think im just going to wait until it happens before i freak out. In our area we have been told if we have less than 5 yrs experience, we would be outsourced, unfortunately im right below that line, so i would be one of those.

Technically, if you have less than 5 yrs, you can get laid off. 5 years is the magic number. At least that's what they threatened those of us with that had less than 5 years.

USPS to propose a 5-day mail schedule?!?!?!?!
Bakerman8419 Wrote:CowboyNation12 Wrote:On yahoo, it says that the USPS is planning on proposing a 5-day mail schedule in the coming weeks, cutting Saturday's mail delivery, in essence dropping weekend deliveries as a whole. I understand they need to save money and cost, but I am pretty upset knowing I make a lot of trades here on Beckett and buy stuff on eBay all the time. Now we have to wait till the following week for our packages. This kinda ticks me off. What are your all's thoughts? I don't think it's just about people's cards. I mentioned in an earlier post, if it saves people's jobs....great. Remember, a lot of people on the boards have been laid off. If they get a brief break from the stresses of life with the hobby....that's okay, too. Everyone in one way or another is affected by the economy and progress. Just think of how many people have been laid off in the newspaper industry because of the internet. melcmd http://photobucket.com/melcmd95boys |
