Plain White Envelopes
Im sure its been discussed before, but is it acceptable to use them for trades?

In my opinion, yes. I use them if its only one card, and its lower value, I use them, and will continue to use them. Why trade for a $8 card and pay for the $2 for first class shipping and DCN, when you can find that same card on Ebay for less than that, and not have to give anything up.

And isnt it really my choice, if its damaged, I am responsible and would have to make it right. Want to hear opinions on this since I havent seen anything regarding it since I joined the website.

Looking for all Kirby Puckett I do not have! Have 732/1841 non Autos and non auto 1/1s (39%).
Also AP, Harvin, Eric Decker, Kevin Love, and Ricky Rubio.

PWE is just rude!....sort of kidding, but PWE's are generally run through automated sorting machines and they can snag the item and rip it open.
My opinion and I don't mean to be disrespectful or anything, but if you can't afford the envelope and First Class postage maybe you should just stick with the bay where people are more worried about the money they get and not the cards they trade.
If it's damaged E-Bay/Paypal doesn't care!

If you want to trade, I need DC and a padded mailer at a minimum. Rarely do I collect or trade for anything other than Bengals/Jaguars and some Cowboys.

well,as a buyer i hate the envelops.emoticon i have had too many issues with sellers.i don't care if it is a 20 cent card i will pay to get it here.so when i sell i use penny sleve, top loader, team bag and a bubble mailer w/DC. as a seller you have to give a s__t about the buyers collection,no matter how small. when i trade i pack the same but i pay for it.why? because i care.pack well please. i will pay for it. i bet 95% of the people who read this will agree.

I'd say that for a trade involving base cards for base cards, PWE is lovely if both traders agree BEFORE THE TRADE IS COMPLETED. If the card involves any sort of thickness that's a problem...
If you agree with your trader that PWE works, it's a risk you both run--damage to the card, no DC, etc.

I don't use PWE on jersey cards or autos, ever. Period.

I like cards serial numbered 34/xx

I guess I disagree with you. Its obvious by your sig line that you are very against them. If Im willing to make it right if it doesnt get there, isnt that my risk?

And I know we discussed before, and seeing your number of posts, I guess I thought it was ok then in the situations you discussed. I was told otherwise.

And I guess I was asking more about this site for trading and not ebay.

I'm sure I am. My case was a low value one card trade. I always use bubble with more than one card, but one I do in PWE, unless I am trading a high value card.

why take the risk... it doesnt seem right at all that you would even have to think that way

Value of cards rise and fall with their condition. Sending in PWE's make it a lot easier for the condition to go down. Some people want the card they are trading for and not the replacement card. I only ship in bubble mailers but if both parties agree then it's okay.
