RE: 2011 Bowman Platinum 5 case break and contest thread (Contest #2 now live)
Case #2, Box #1
Emerald prospect refractors /599: Gary Brown, Billy Hamilton Auto: Leon Landry Emerald auto /399: Jimmy Paredes Auto relic /666: J. P. Arencibia Grade: D Comments: I definitely wanted an Arencibia at some point, considering how weak the relic auto set is. Trying to get in the habit of typing “emerald” rather than “green. What should blue be, though? Case #2, Box #2 Emerald prospect refractors /599: Miguel De Los Santos Prospect superfractor /1: Cesar Puello Auto: Anderson Feliz, Kyle Seager Green auto relic redemption: Trevor Bell Grade: C Comments: I love getting superfractors, and I’m pretty excited about this one. I believe it’s the hit of the break so far. But the cash value is pretty modest. I don’t think I can call this an A box or even a B box, considering the autos. Case #2, Box #3 Emerald prospect refractor /599: Jordan Swagerty Blue prospect refractor /199: Jimmy Paredes Auto: Clint Robinson Gold auto /50: Miguel De Los Santos Auto relic /115: Austin Jackson Grade: D Comments: There really aren’t many medium hits in this product. It’s going to be a big hit or nothing. So far nothing. Also: good thinking on the color progression, Topps. The color scheme makes most of the base veterans look goldish, then there is the most frequent gold base parallel, and then the really scarce gold prospect refractor. It’s gold, green, red for veterans, and green, blue, gold, red for prospects. Huh? |
