A&G is generally pretty cool with lots of inserts, minis, and the like. As far as getting value, pulling autographs from A&G is rare (many hobby boxes do not have autographs - i've pulled one A^G autograph from a discounted retail pack which was a very nice pull) and most of the real valuable cards in A&G are hobby only (such as the 1 of 1 wood cards). The blasters do have a reasonable good shot at getting something decent - there is one mini per pack and sometimes you get a no number which are very rare. The inserts are often very fun (depending upon the year) and many are fairly rare. You have a decent shot at getting a memorabilia from a blaster - depending upon who you get, you could essentially get the base and other inserts for free (especially if it is a discount).
I am a fan of A&G (and i actually live in Lewis Ginter's neighborhood - that is the Ginter in Allen and Ginter and apparently he was one who came up with the idea of putting cards in the tobacco packs and developed a whole lot around Richmond, Virginia (he also was a founder of Dominion Power and the American Tobacco Company) so i rarely pass up the chance to pick up A&G blasters at a discount - while not likely to make a big hit you will likely be happy with the results.
