My wife and daughter are planning a trip to Chicago in July. Where is a good place to stay outside the city with easy transportation to and from. Also any places we need to see or eat?? We have never been and plan on going to Wrigley and American Girl museum. Any thoughts from people who live close or have been would be very greatful also any emails if you choose to kentuckywildcatzz@hotmail.com. Thanks for any help guys!!!!

We always stay at the Wyndham downtown. If you feel like splurging a little, they have an American Girl guest package (the hotel is just a few blocks from the store) that we did this last spring that my daughters really liked. It'll get you some AG goodies for your daughter and a really nice free breakfast buffet in the restaurant.

If you're going to stay there, register online for their By Request program - they're really nice about upgrading rooms for members at no charge if they have them available. The last two times we've stayed there, we've gotten an Executive Suite for the price of a regular room. It's a little pricier staying downtown, but for the time you'll save not having to go in and out of the city, it's probably worth it.
