Wow.

Were Sandy Coufax's pitches high when they crossed the plate too?

Brad1431 Wrote:I do have a tv.... but anyway, who cares... Beckett got a ton of calls, and Mo's pitch wasn't 4 inches inside it cut back over late probably was a ball at the plate but a strike when caught, just like Beckett was getting today.

stop trolling and following me into threads just to start something. And making fun of a typo from two days ago is getting personal and kinda creepy, stop following me to troll and start trouble.

Pitch was a solid 4 inches off the plate. After getting rung up on a poor call earlier I don't blame him.
And where is homerBrad complaining about the umps now

as Brad just said, Beckett got that call ALL GAME LONG... so let's call it even
...
I never got that. Why do umps make calls based on past calls? If they called a bad strike earlier, get over it! They shouldn't make up for it later, when it is a whole different situation. Now, Beckett did get a couple of calls, but I HATE how umpires try to make up for missed calls. Live on and make the next call correctly. Don't change a call because you missed one earlier

agreed 100%, that should not happen... yet, people can't go all out shouting it's a bad call when their own team benefited from the same type of call more than once in that same game... and I'm not just saying it for today's game, today's teams or even just for baseball, it should be the case everywhere

I didn't see the end of the game, so I can't comment on that pitch specifically, but from what it sounds like is that the ump has been calling that pitch a strike all night. He's decided to give the pitch a little bit off the outside corner of the plate. Both teams have to adjust knowing that the ump is giving the pitchers that pitch. I think this is more of the ump staying consitent, rather than trying to make up a call. If he's decided to give that pitch to the pitchers tonight, he's gotta stay consistent. As a hitter, you gotta know the umps zone and protect accordingly.

Early in the game when Beckett got a few calls, the announcer even said this ump is a pitchers ump and the hitters will have to adjust.

Bingo.

I have no problem with the pitch to Lowell. Yes, it was a ball, but that call was being made all night both ways. It is the hitters responsibility to make the adjustments.

At least we can agree on that.

After Lowell struck out, I saw the umpire wipe his eye, my brother said the replay it looks like Lowell spit on the ump, how big of a suspension could that be???

You come up with the craziest things to start arguments with...

I saw A-Rod grab his crotch 23 times tonight. How big of a suspension is indecent public pubic activity???

That doesn't make any sense, if Lowell spit in the umps face he could face a major suspension, remember Alomar. In some states it is considered assault because of possible transfer of certain diseases. Your analogy makes no sense.
