Thumbs Down My patience is finally gone.
I am done with you BGS. I no longer have the patience and energy to wait for the long overdue registry. I truly don't understand how your company can be so blind as to the benefits of effective, existing registry. Surely you have seen the hundreds of dollars spent on PSA10 commons, and the obvious extrapolation that makes to increased submissions.

I know I am a small fish in the grading pond (only ~300 cards self submitted), but I was also one of your first customers (I self submitted the cards with cert numbers 4442-4444 back in 2000). But I was also one of those that submitted low book junk hoping for gems for PC purposes.

I have finally decided that I will no longer be buying BGS cards or submitting anything for PC, and I will be selling what is worth selling. My BGS graded PC collections (mostly player RC sets (Bettis, Ward, etc) and other modern key rookies) is going to be sold off in the coming weeks. Non-Gems will be cracked and kept raw if they won't recoup grading fees already wasted, gems will be sold off and replaced with Raw versions. Anything valuable enough to be purchased graded in the future will be PSA cards.

Your lack of interest in your customers has cost you, myself and thousands of other collectors money by devaluing the cards already slabbed and has limited any future value of those cards. You have dawdled too long and will never be able to make the market share you lost to PSA and SGC.

I realize no one from Beckett will see this post since they ignore this part of the forum, but....that would be par for the course for them.

That's the problem, they truly don't care. I'm on my way out as well.

RE: My patience is finally gone.
I read it.

It's not the case at all. Beckett Grading has been working at getting the registry up soon, a real registry too.

However, I understand that doesn't mean much considering where it's been. Hopefully, it will be up and running sooner rather than later.

I really appreciate your stepping in to comment here.

My well documented concerns/complaints are not with the grading team but with Marketing and Communications or someone with larger management responsibilities for not setting expectations or providing any public updates to its customers. Can you flog whoever that would be for me? Smile By the way, it was very difficult for me to follow that comment with a smiling face.

Thank you again.

RE: My patience is finally gone.
Well, I happened to come into the forum today because I was told a screenshot was put up of what the new registry is going to look like. I didn't see it, but I am going to come back more often and try to help as best as I could.

If you ever have any questions or anything you need help with, you can always email me (susanL@beckett.com) or go to the Beckett Twitter or Facebook page. I'll do the best I can, direct you to the people who can help or try to at least find answers.

I hope they get it up soon tho I fear it will be many years behind what PSA has already established. I hope they do promotions to entice people to use the registry. Yeah contests are going to be great but when you're in last place it takes a lot to get caught up.

That is the case, in the last ~3-4 years the registry has been useless. That is being ignored and devalueing the items. As you said, the fact that they just announced its coming soon, does nothing to fix the damage that is already done.

RE: My patience is finally gone.
Sad to hear Sad

With the addition of the new Custom registry display function would have been nice to see a lot of those JSA/BGS slabbed customs you had properly displayed and given their rightful due appreciation.

I know my club guys also always appreciated seeing your latest additions to that Finest master registry,,,,

Good luck bro--
Jeff

RE: My patience is finally gone.
I've been sitting on hundreds of cards to send in and get graded, but with the uncertainty surrounding the registry and watching the regression of the brand I had to rethink sending in everything to Beckett. I hope they can get back to where they were, but management has not shown me they are capable of large endeavors. Hope they market the Sh.. out of it!
