Comments: Seven brutal boxes in a row, followed by three terrific ones. Making things more interesting is that the Zunino serial number gives us yet another contest leader. Esa0315 predicted a serial number of 175, and is now in pretty good shape. There may well be a few more paper autos with high enough serial numbers to make a difference, but one would have to fall in a pretty tight range to make a difference.

Grade: B
Comments: The first 7 boxes were giving me average value – and headed for a squarely C grade, my weakest case of the break, with only an Addison Russell base auto by which to be impressed. But the final five boxes were worth double the 7 preceding boxes, and boosted the overall grade, thanks to two AFLAC autos, a Perfect Game auto, a Black auto, and a Joey Gallo blue refractor auto. My computer has been crashing, so the last several boxes have been posted in Safe Mode. Argh. Thought it was an update to Firefox causing the problems, but now it’s crashing on Google Chrome too. I’m sure I caused the problem somehow trying to stream out of network football.

Comments: Holy balls, I really underestimated all the stuff still hanging around in this case. I was right about the blue auto, but a red refractor, a plate, and a low numbered Best insert? None are huge pulls individually, but it was sure surprising to see it all come out of the same box. Another great ending to a case; I’d better not change my clothes while I’m this lucky.

Comments: Case #1 is still my best overall, but I feel like I’m hitting solid singles with almost every case. This one featured a gold auto, a blue auto, a Shaffer refractor auto redemption, a Perfect Game auto, a jumbo patch of Billy Hamilton, and a prospect red refractor. I think I’ll go watch the end of the Illinois-Gonzaga game, but I’ll probably crack that 9th case tonight.
