I'd prefer the first 1. The difference in centering is much more noticable than the surface.

The first one, these both have a final grade of 9 but the second one has an 8.5 sub-grade. I personally do not buy cards that have sub-grades lower than the final card grade unless Im super jonsin' on the card or they are 1 of 1's or very rare with less than 10 examples of that card. Defeats the purpose IMO.
Wanted: any 1989 Upper Deck cards graded 9.5 across the board or better.
