IMO, its not a question of who has better skills, who has a better physique, or who is for that matter more intelligent..All i am saying is, at the end of the day, when you compare lebron vs kobe, its about championships, it's just that simple..

Both of them are gifted superstars, but public perception is "what have you done for me lately?", and the fact is lebron has done nothing, who gives a rat's behind whether ur a mvp, scoring champ, etc...

While individual awards are great, you play the game for championships.

Prince James, will be the nba's version of one of the best players to not have a ring, so prove us all wrong "Ringless King"

But that falls more under better career. For instance, everyone will say that Karl Malone is better than Pau Gasol though Pau has two championships. But, Pau may have had a better career (I say may very cautiously).

But.....

Kobe has the stats, awards and rings. His stats are equally as impressive as LB. Comparing Gasol, Horry, Kerr or any other role player is just pointless. We all know that Pau is no Karl Malone or Horry is no Barkley or Ewing. The difference here is we are comparing 2 players who both have great stats but only 1 has rings and LB has had 2 chances already and last year with a stacked team. LB is great and has great stats but no rings, Kobe has great stats and a mitt full of rings. Kobe has proven he can close out a series and win the championship Lebron has not proved that. Its like comparing Jordan to Wilt pointless.

If they create a new basketball league where games lasted 3 periods, lebron would be the greatest player in history. until that happens, since jordans playing days....the debate is and will be durant vs kobe. Lebron will always win the debate of who is the biggest d bag in the NBA with cry baby Wade at a close 2nd. Sometimes i honestly feel bad for Bosh, I think if he went to Chicago they could of easily won the title last year. Speak of the devil...its the 4th quarter and Miami is starting to fall apart again

Some players handle and excel under pressure some don't. Jordan and Kobe are 2 that do/did, Lebron, Vince Carter, and a few others still have not figured it out yet. When the game is about to end they usually end up screwing it up. LB might figure it out and go on to win 4-5 championships but until then he falls below Kobe in the greatest player debate. Lebron reminds me of Wilt. Great talent but just couldn't figure out how to win. Wilt had to go to a championship Laker team to finally win surrounded by a pile of former champs. Lebron is in his 3rd finals and still have not won and from the first 2 games looks to be finish in second again. I could be wrong but I think the Thunder looks like the better team.

As I say to the kids I coach in hockey, do you want to be the best at the beginning or at the end. Strive to improve every game and at the end we will be the ones holding the trophy. We won the past 3 years. Winning is a process and most times you need to lose before you learn to win.
