For 180$(prices of a hobby box) you get 2 packs(mini boxes) of cards, both have an autograph, and both have a relic. I have opened 3 boxes of this since I came back and doubled the money i put in, and have a couple nice PC cards from it still.

You are better off buying the singles from this product, as you can get most of the nicer ones for less then 100$

ALL boxes are coin flips to say the least, IMO triple threads (at least the last couple years) are some of the nicest cards around.

And you get a hit out of it you would forget how much it was for the pack lol.

it goes both ways. Card companies know people will spend the money in hopes to get that big hit and then turn around and sell it to make money.

In the end, we are all making money.

I could easily buy a case of 2012 Bowman right now if I wanted to and see if I get big hits but I'm not THAT crazy. I'm happy spending $60-$200 on hobby boxes, or even $50 for a pack of Tribute. It's a sick thrill.

Look at it this way(and this is how my wife got hooked): Would you rather go to the casino and lose $150 at slots/tables and be pissed or buy boxes and packs to get hits to make a profit? Plus cards are an investment. Losing money at the casino? Not an investment.

i see and agree with that logic, but the facts are the facts and $180 for a PACK of baseball cards is ridiculous no matter the contents of said pack, just my opinon Smile

I think that they did it right with Topps Marquee being a high end product. $40 a pack is not too much in my book for getting a hit in every pack. I look at triple threads as a special occasion product like for a birthday or christmas present to myself. I do think that some of the products that go for a couple hundred dollars are really ridiculous mainly because that you rarely get a card that justifies spending that kinda money.

I have to admitt I bought 6 boxes of these. 3 were busts and 3 had huge hits (I didnt buy all of them at one time)
The pics are listed in my PC thread I think its on page 8 or 9
Honus Wagner gu #/18 Babe Ruth #9 game used on front and back of the card, Sandy K, A. Chapman, and C. Kershaw White whale 1/1 triple auto patch. I was offered 500.00 right after I pulled it and passed. Its my only Sandy Koufax auto I have. Not to mention a few other HOF gu and autos.

Try the new triple play from Panini, its .99 a pack. Cards are worth thousands of dollars if you hit the right one. You just need to know how to recover from bad packs, or players you get you dont nessecarill collect. I ebay the players, jersey cards and autos that I dont collect. It helps bring you back some of the money, from the higher priced boxes. Another thing is you looking at Triple Threads that cost 180-200 a box, that considered a mid to high end break. There are more products out there that sell for 500 bucks a pack... 8-10, to maybe 15 cards Smile It has changed... But I will always have love for it.

RE: Triple Threads?
Well, since I have my own website, I look at it from both ways, I guess. For me, if you can afford busting the wax, and enjoy the thrill of hoping to get that "BIG" hit, then go for it, if you can afford it.

If your looking for a specific player, or team, then maybe ur best trying to hit the bay, a show, or trade for a specific need, or want. Its like going to mall, and seeing $20 shoes at payless, or going to finish line at buying a $80 pair of nike. Its what you can afford.

Personally, imo you have a waaaay better shot of pulling a "BIG" hit out of higher-dollar product, than you do a lower end product. But for alot of us out there, its the thrill of seeing if u get that BIG hit.

It is what it is, if you dont want, or cant afford, then try something you can afford, or trying getting through other means.
