Beckett, please wake up!!! This is no game. You are the so called authority of trading cards.
You claim this is some dealer or EBAY scam!! Not even close as I have told you all along!! The 1982 Wrestling All Stars Series A sealed destroys records and goes for $1,461 raw!!!! It is time to take notice as this monster has woken up!!!! This is the most rare set of cards from the 80's and the best part is they are the most condition sensitive of all cards from that era which gives you the double wammy!!!! This is the set bar none!!! |

I am not selling any.
If you don't like my posts don't read them. I am keeping wrestling collectors informed on what is going on. Period. |

Hey can you elaborate on what BGS is saying? That sounds like the dumbest assessment of a release by BGS I have ever heard considering they grade them?

1982 Wrestling All Stars sealed set breaks all record at $1,461 on EBAY!!!!!
Chris Olds did a question and answer in this months Beckett Sports Card Monthly.
His quote was "While it is unclear whether it's a small handfull of dealers buying and selling among each other or some type of EBAY shenanigans, the sets are worth looking at if collectors have a passing interest in wrestling." I have personally emailed him several times in the past to give him a better understanding of why these were going to get so hot. To basically suggest it is fraud or a few a people playing games is simply wrong. These sets were produced in such limited quantity and were only available by mail order from one magazine. They were also available at select shows in the Northeast and the packaging and transport of the sets damaged many of the cards. They were actually the idea of Vince Sr. and he went to Norman Keitzer of the Wrestling News and suggested he make the sets. Chris also mentions they are the first set of the Sports Entertainment era which I would tend to disagree. Many of the wrestlers in the sets were actually big time players in the 50', 60's, and 70's. The other part they have wrong is the pricing. You can't get a NM-MT set for $450, NM-MT for $120, and NM-MT for $80. When you buy these lose you are lucky to get EX-MT to NM cards. Even sealed sets will deliver some NM cards and a great number of NM-MT if the corners are not damaged by the cellophane. The three sets that just sold were $1,451 for 82A, $368 for 82B with seven damaged cards showing, and $141 for 83A. When Chris did a note about the top 10 wrestling cards about a year or more ago. He said the Ric Flair booked for $15 and you would lucky to get one for $50 on EBAY if you could find one. The vast majority of Beckett prices in the guide are a joke to the high side, the idea a card books for less then a 1/3 of what it costs is simply bizarre. My issue is Beckett presents itself as the market leader for pricing information and is supposed to report the news. When cards sell for 3 to 5 times book they are not working hard enough to deliver their readers relavent pricing data. |

There is no doubt the overall wrestling card market is not hot and the new issues that come out only stay hot for a few weeks.
The difference is the Wrestling All Stars cards and a few other 80's cards can not be bunched in with Tri Star and Topps garbage. |
