Which team will be the Suprise team this year?
wnysupport Wrote:I think Buffalo is in for a good year, not sure if they make the playoffs this year - since the AFC is a stacked conference around playoff time....but I can see 9-7 - maybe 10-6 and the playoffs IF some things go right.

With regards to the NFC, I honestly love reading everything thinking the Vikings are some king crap now, lol. What did they do this off season that makes you think that they are better then the playoff teams from last year? Just because Peterson is on the team, doesn't mean the team is going to go to the Super Bowl. Does Bernard Berrian make up for the fact that Tarvaris Jackson hasn't progressed at all? Maybe Brooks Bollinger is the answer at QB!!! (Please for the love of all that is holy, don't say JD Booty is the savior)

AP is a beast - but unless Jackson shows something, teams are going to stack the box against Peterson, and the Vikings will choke like they did last year.

they added jared allen and madieu milliams to the defense.

your question is pretty ignorant when you just start talking about their passing game. they are certainly a contender in my opinion as they have the best running game in the league (best o-line, best rb) and an improved defense which on paper looks to be a top-3 defense. they already had the best run defense in the league last yr and now theyve added a pro bowl pass rusher and a heck of a safety in madieu. also, they just barely missed the playoffs last year, and the bears and lions are going to be trashy again.

Best running back in the league? Since when did Tomlinson, or Westbrook join the Vikings?

Do you honestly think teams are going to game plan against Jackson or Peterson / Taylor? The only way the Vikings break out this year is if Jackson progresses enough that teams have to actually worry about him making plays, and then have to change the game plan from stacking the box.

Also don't discount losing Spencer Johnson on the DL - since he gave both Williams the ability to not have to be in all the time.

Jags - my fav.

Texans - nope, too many players prone to injuries.

Gotta be honest, I 100% agree. I remember swearing on my life many times that Losman would be a Viking because QB was such a glaring issue on that team. Nothing has changed at that position! I see no reason for defenses to fear stacking eight in the box against Minnesota and shutting that offense down.

Kudo's to whomever picked Minnesota, I have them winning 12+ games, the schedule starts out a bit tough, but not impossible, if they do well early, it is a cake walk late, I also like New Orleans to bounce back if Brees @ Co. stay healthy....

Why would the Jags be a surprise team? Everyone knows they're already good.:| Did you mean they will surprise by sucking this year:?: Texans will surprise because of the low expectations people have of them.

what about the saints?

made plenty of moves in the offseason on defense. have very high ranked offense. Drafted sedrick ellis. Meachem playing this year.

I think they will be good this year.

Not true. Ravens won the SB with great defense and little offense. Vikings have a top notch Defense and a great running game. I don't think Trent Dilfer did much to win a SB ring.

Also don't discount losing Spencer Johnson on the DL - since he gave both Williams the ability to not have to be in all the time.
