Just a little rant I wanted to run by you all.<br />

Maybe in 1990 a jersey card, or an auto... up to a patch auto might be worthy of a "Congratulations" message on the back of a card.<br />

Come on though...<br />

These days collectors demand these cards. Howabout putting something more usefull on the backs of these cards other than "YOU WON" ... <br />

I would much rather stats, trivia, whatever. If you gotta include a congrats message, make it smaller, and add something useful.<br />

The "Congrats" is for authentication to prove the card is real and (sometimes) specify what piece of memorabilia is on the card.

I don't know if I would call it 'outdated', but I am definitely tired of seeing the same old, same old. I'd like to see a card back designed specifically for each set, with some text other than the same boilerplate. Just to spice things up a bit.<br />

I'd like to see the player bios on the back of GU/auto cards like they do on the base sets. Just put a single line on the back of the card with something to the effect of "This card contains an authentic memorabilia piece/autograph of the player depicted."

Well Ive recently taken to collecting higher end cards of my team, and its pretty annoying that rather than anything useful on a card (for instance cup patch auto rc's, or even the 1/1 plates, or even SPA Patch autos /100).... theres just a huge Congratulations on the back.<br />

Like Ive hit the lottery or something. Its not that big of deal anymore. People pay a lot for these packs and cards, and really dont need to be congratulated for pulling one anymore.<br />

Howabout something that adds value rather than insults our intelligence? (Congratulations, youve pulled a $200 card out of a $400 pack? Or Congratulations on spending hundreds of dollars on a single?)<br />

I can see where a mini area explaining authenticity would be nice, but not the whole back side of an otherwise very nice card.<br />

For any RC patch I would gladly accept the huge CONGRATULATIONS message so long as it said the piece of memeorabilia is from a GAME USED jersey and not from some photo shoot.<br />
<br />
As for high end cards UD could always slap $10 into the packs containing patches, 1/1, etc. At least you recoup some of your losses.

I'm rather okay with what's on them now. As far as patch cards, jersey cards, and stick cards go. Who really cares what's on the back of them? If I want stats I'll get a base card. If I want to know something redundant about the player I'll look up their player profile on their teams homepage. If the authenticity notice wasn't there or if it was in smaller print we'd have people complaining that it wasn't there or how do they know if it's real or they'd complain that the writing is way too small. It's more then likely that it's a legal issue and that it has to be included and it has to be in a text size that is legible.<br />
