I moved to Trail BC 6 months ago and while we've got a card shop, the old guy running it only carries hockey. This weekend I'm going to be heading home to Edmonton and I'll be able to visit the awesome card store I used to frequent. My question, what should I stock up on? I used to love Bowman but I've run out of gas on it. I used to do the Topps and UD standard series sets, but this year's gimmick cards and what not bore me. Last year I dabbled in SP Authentic, but I found it taxing to try to track down letters, and frankly too expensive on a per-card basis on the Bay.
So what's cool this year? I can't afford the upper end $100 a pack stuff, but I'm willing to try a box or three of something mid-range. All advice will be appreciated.

Go with something from Topps or Bowman Heritage. They are cool. Maybe some Turkey Red.
