Opened 17 more boxes of 1991 Donruss - jack pfiester - 12-26-2020 Didn't get jack squat! I'm beginning to think all Elite inserts from this era are extremely undervalued. In the past 4-5 years, I've probably opened close to 300 boxes of 1991 and 1992 Donruss, and have pulled exactly two Elite inserts (Dawson & Fielder). There has to be a lot of these cards still sealed in packs. I'm not having any luck locating them... RE: Opened 17 more boxes of 1991 Donruss - mistral38 - 12-26-2020 As a long time Elite series collector I agree the 91 & 92 Elite are undervalued especially by Beckett. I can tell you there is an uptick as with everything else it seems but have never encountered a 91 Bonds for $30. I think the common assumption was one per case and I think cases were 20 boxes or so. I hope you are at least being responsible and recycling the stuff after all there is a spike in building material costs so the insulation they can used for has some value... I have opened two sealed cases of 1991 Donruss and didn't pull Elite inserts out of either of those, so the odds are definitely worse than one per case! RE: Opened 17 more boxes of 1991 Donruss - bonds20001 - 12-26-2020 I found this on line from 2012.. 1:2,700 With 36 packs per box, the overall odds of finding an Elite card in a pack of 1991 Donruss is 1:2,700. Wow. Those are long odds. Another blog suggest that the odds are 1:10 cases!!!! Good luck... RE: Opened 17 more boxes of 1991 Donruss - dogger99 - 12-26-2020 I don't know how many boxes I opened, but enough to have almost 13,000 cards. Was buying these back in the day when there were pallets of them at Sam's Club. I only got 1 of the Elite Inserts (Matt Williams). Between 1998-2002 I unloaded 12,000 of them at Children's Hospitals, etc. I remember one year in the early 2000's at the Tri-Star show, some kids were building a huge card house with 1991 Donruss baseball. RE: Opened 17 more boxes of 1991 Donruss - magicpapa - 12-26-2020 I pulled a Griffey in 1992 WADDA RUSH!!! RE: Opened 17 more boxes of 1991 Donruss - waynetalger - 01-01-2021 Must be tough for the first elite card I pulled was in 1993 Cecil Fielder. RE: Opened 17 more boxes of 1991 Donruss - crazyforkinsler5 - 01-01-2021 A friend bought a 1991 Donruss case back earlier this year for I believe about $8/box, and he offered me 1 box for my birthday as a gift. I let him pick the box. Of course it had an Elite insert in it. Mine was Jose Canseco. One of the cards I really want! |
