Any way to remove roller marks from Chrome? - redsoxfan1534 - 06-02-2015

I'm prepping a BGS submission, and have a couple of prospect autos I'd like to get graded that have roller marks on them about halfway down the card from the top. I've searched and searched, but can't seem to find anyway to get the roller mark off. I've tried a microfiber cloth, tissues, and a cotton swab to no avail.

Even if I can't get the line removed, does anyone know how much that will effect the surface grade? No pits or anything like that, just the singular roller mark running halfway down the card. It is hardly visible to the naked eye, and needs to be turned a certain way to appear in the light. Would it not count as much off since it is a manufacturer error? Can post pics if needed.

It sucks but they'll treat it like any other defect and grade it based on how noticeable it is. If you can't see it unless it's in certain light you may not even get docked on it because they nay not notice it.

You guys made me laugh- here is a pic. The mark I was talking about is beneath the chrome surface and to the right of the bill of his helmet.

As you can see from a bird's eye view, you can hardly see the line

Hope this helps!

I have a 2011 Trout finest auto with a visible line down it. Still graded a 9/10.

Did it get an 8.5 for Surface? Just curious.
