Alternative to Sportsbuy site? - mgoehring - 05-02-2014

I've used the sportsbuy.com site quite a bit over the years to list and sell cards- it was convenient because there were no listing fees at all, ever- only a fee paid if something sold. It closed down last week, and I was wondering if anyone knew of an alternative that was fairly successful for listing cards without fees until sold? I also sell on eBay but I have hundreds of cards, too many to pay listing fees.

I have never paid a listing fee with eBay. The only fee they for me for was a 1.00 charge that was reassessed every 30 days for a "gallery us image" or in other words a magnified image of the card. I stopped using that. eBay very often ogres free listings and they do not reup the fee on BIN items that don't sell. They just relist them. That being said they take 10% when an item sells, plus a bit in shipping, plus Paypal fees if you use that service. I only use it to cards that I think are high demand or I can unload at 25.00+. For bulk cards people rave about COMC.com. It is an initial investment but very type "sweat equity" on your part. I have bought from that site and I have been very impressed.

I will check that place out for sure- I've never seen it before, thanks. I've used eBay quite a lot. They offer a certain number of fixed listings per month, but I'd like somewhere else. Thanks for the tip

COMC.com is great. Ive used it for a few years now. You ship your cards to them, and they scan it and ship it to the customer. Listing fees are 0.25 per card. Now they are revamping their processes so the basic time frame takes 2-8 weeks. You get the first 3 months of storage for free and after that everything greater than 0.75 is charged 1 cent. Fees are dependent on the method you use to cash out. (paypal, check, gift cards etc) If you have other questions feel free to PM me.

Another site that Ive used is sportlots.com. So far I haven't sold anything from that site but others have recommended it as a good place to sell base cards. Its free to list and the fees % vary based on the amount of money you sell.

I've just submitted my first lot of cards to COMC - 100 various cards sent off today. Thanks again for the tip, hoping it works out well and I can send off some more.
