A case of 2012-13 Limited and 10 packs of Past and Present. 2011-12 - classical_hero - 10-04-2013

I bought them as a birthday gift to myself, even though I have a few weeks to go, but I am pleased with what I got. The 10 pack of P&P was a free gift from the store that I bought it from, so I opened those first.

Here are the inserts I got from those packs.
1 Paul Pierce Variations card.
2 Breakout, one of Taj and the other of Rose.
2 Changing Times of Monta Ellis and Spencer Heywood.
1 Charles Oakley auto.
2 Raining 3's of KD and AI.
4 Bread For Health of LBJ, Jennings, Kevin Martin and Zach Randolph.
1 Gamers Mem card of Trevor Booker.

I also got 77 base cards and not one duplicate, which is a change as you will see from the Kobe Anthology cards I got. So overall that was a pleasant gift to get.

Now onto what I wanted and that was the case of Limited. I also a few weeks ago bought two packs of Limited, so those card I will deal with the Anthology cards. I got alot of duplicates and the main duplicates are of either 104 (7 duplicates), 126 (8 duplicates), 140 (6 duplicates) and 164 (8 duplicates). That is a complete joke considering that I got only 85 (include 10 from previous) Anthology cards and I have 37 duplicates and 46 single cards. That is a terrible percentage of duplicates and considering that I could only have less than 50% percent of the total cards available, that is just terrible shuffling from Panini. You really have to pick up the game there.

Now onto the Limited cards. They were better sorted out and I only got 12 duplicates and considering that the most I have of one card is Deron Williams, with 3, but I had one already from the two previously bought packs, so I can';t complain about the shuffling of cards here.

Here are the mega hits I got from this case and the two previous boxes.
1 Unlimited Potential Signature of Kyrie Irving 024/199. Sweet. In the 2 previous boxes I bought I got Kyrie's Rookie Auto redemption cards. Both are very sweet. From looking at the PG, I have the two most expensive cards from the whole set of cards, that are priced. Nice.
1 Curtain Call Materials Prime of Karl Malone 7/10
1 Material Monikers Prime of Brook Lopez. 05/10
1 Gold Spotlight of Rajon Rondo (10/25) Shame I didn't get number 9. This was from the previous 2 boxes.

Here are the other inserts I got. * means I got from the two previous boxes.
4 Redemption cards. 1 Masterful Marks of Jrue Holiday. (49/99). 1 Glass Cleaners Auto of Ersan Ilyasova (18/199). 1 Rookie Auto of Klay Thompson (190/299). 1 Unlimited Potential of Tony Wroten (41/199).
1 Home and Away Materials card of Brandon Jennings (37/99)
3 Silver Spotlights of Louis Williams (15/49), Chris Paul (34/49) and Lamar Odom (23/49)
1 Master Marks Auto of JaVale McGee (67/99)
1 Material Monikers of Deron Williams (29/99)
2 Spotlight Signatures of DeAndre Jordan (34/99) and Kevin Willis SS (63/99)*.
2 more Unlimited Potential Signatures of Tristan Thompson (164/199)
and Terrance Ross (182/199)
1 Class Cleaners Materials Auto of Robert Parish (32/49).
1 Glass Cleaners Auto of Marcin Gortat (153/199).
4 Centre Stage Materials of Rudy Gay (25/66), Evan Turner (34/199)*, KG (38/199) and Wesley Matthews (35/199)
7 Curtain Call Materials of Larry Bird (105/199), Shaq (28/199), Hakeem (146/199), Tim Duncan (105/199), Steve Smith (168/199), Adonis Haslem (113/199) and Ray Allen (103/199).
3 Lights Out Materials of Stephen Curry (41/199), Joe Jonson (185/199), and Al Harrington(54/199).
5 Performers Materials of 2 Carmelo Anthony (35/199* and 93/199), Derrick Rose (148/199), Ray Felton (141/199) and Marshon Brooks (146/199).
19 Rookies of Norris Cole (292/349), Marshon Brooks (93/349), Brandon Knight (207/299), Tristan Thompson (129/299), Jared Cunningham(226/349), Kemba Walker (113/278), Miles Plumlee (112/399), Justin Harper (146/399), Shelvin Mack (184/399)*, Jeff Taylor (246/399), Nikola Vucevic (92/349), Malcom Lee (39/399), Khtis Middleton (344/399)*, Tysawn Taylor (215/399), Kim English (385/399), Kyle Singler (169/399), Kevin Murphy (78/399), Kyle O'Quinn (197/399) and Lance Thomas (373/399).

So overall I have done decently with what I bought. Boy did this take a long time to write. I will take some pictures of the best cards.

They might be, if I can get the right offer. I collect Steve Nash and Charles Barkley, more than likely right now I don't have any Nash's, since i stopped collecting while he made it and I might have a few Barkley's already from my earlier collecting days as a teenager.

Happy Early Birthday man and congrats on the good break. I love the concept of the Home/Away cards...although on some of them Panini put the same color swatches on both sides which is....opposite of what they were going for.

I read your issue about the Anthology set and I would like to try and clear it up.

Panini did the Anthologies in an odd way. They had common cards that ran across just about every release(one that comes to mind is the one with the picture of the score board). Other than those common cards, there were about 3 cards per release that were exclusive to that particular release. The numbers were not sequential by any means and there was no rhyme or reason to it. If you are breaking Primarily Limited, given how Panini released them, it would only make sense that you would be hitting the same 7-8 cards (3 "new" cards-ish, plus 4-5 of the retread cards that are in every other product).

It isn't really a collation issue with Panini. It seems to me that it was done intentionally. The question that I am thinking you have for me is what the hell gives me the authority to know this. I get it. Read the box breaks section for the past....oh 7-8 months. I am there....a lot.

So they want to buy other products. So that means for Christmas time I intend to buy some more limited to add to my collection, I will expect to receive more duplicates.

Yeah. It is actually a pretty decent idea to drive people to buy other products. It was poorly thought out because the packs are, by and large, searchable. Regular thickness pack? Base. Slightly larger than regular? A gold or platinum base. Markedly larger? One of the relics/patches.

THe funny thing? I NEVER hit one of the base platinums or golds. Not a single one. Period. However, I hit an auto relic /24 and an auto relic /8.

If you ever intend to complete the set let me know man. I have doubles upon doubles upon doubles that I have nothing to do with them.

I would really like a shot at the Malone Curtain calls if it is available.

Make an offer, since i can't see anything you have got. Because the stupid forum doesn't have a remember me button.

Any offer will need to be about $120 worth of cards. Considering the base is 10 and that is out of 199, then since there are only 5% of the prime cards, that would mean it could go upwards to $200, but I am willing to let it go for less. I have seen all the Barkley/Kidd/Nash cards and most of the are simply base cards, so they can be part of the offer, but they simply won't do, without extra value.
