Josh Harding Diagnosed with... - shezdoni - 11-29-2012

Multiple Sclerosis.

Definetly not a fun disease to get, and as there is no known cure for it, he is in for many rough days ahead.

A shame too! Hopefully he can still play in the NHL for a few more years.

He has consistently impressed me whenever he was healthy to play. Those 7 games he played in 2006-07 where he ended with a 1.16 GAA and a 0.960% save average first put him on my radar.

Even if there was a cure for the cause, once it gets going the damage is done. I have MS and there is a chance he could play, but I can tell you muscle fatigue is the worst part of it, other than every day, every step, every movement being a guessing game to varying degrees.
Thoughts with him.

Such a rough go for him. I feel for you as well, Tyson. Dealing with my neck is a struggle in it's own, but to have your whole body be in some sort of limbo is horrid. Best wishes to you guys!

In my case it's not so bad. I was uncoordinated and lazy to begin with, just now I have an excuse...

You're all allowed to laugh at that

Now that I have permission, I don't want to!

Do you get bad headaches from your neck?

I have 2 bones pushing in on my cervical cord from both sides, so hard that you can see the indentation marks on the xrays..., worse days are when you move your neck to quickly, and it's like having your whole brain on electric shock impulse...

DINGDINGDING! We have a winner! That is exactly (mine is a disc, though) what is going on, and I have had "professionals" balk at me because "it shouldn't hurt!" I have to keep my composure whilst dealing with these fools, but I am very inclined to offer them to judge the experience for themselves. The migraines are a new thing, and I think it may be due to the longevity of the injury. It's been more than two years now... and no end in sight!

Son, I am going to give you the ultimate cure to make migraines go away quickly when you have them, and it really does work, and you only need 3 ingredients.

1. Hot water
2 Mustard Powder
3. Fresh ginger root

first boil some water

2nd grate the ginger root (not the whole root, about a 2 table spoon's full, and FRESH works the best, the tea bags and dried don't work as well as fresh), pour 3 cups of hot water over the grated ginger and let it steep 4 to 5 minutes.

While it is steeping get a bucket, basin, even your bathtub will work, put water hot enough that you can stand in it, then pour some of the mustard powder in the water.

Then go strain your tea, put it in a cup, and go sip your tea while soaking your feet in the mustard water for about an hour, then dry your feet off.

The Ginger root tea is also good for colds, heartburn etc... I don't know exactly why, but Fresh ginger root is almost a cure all from headaches, to stomach problems, anxiety, etc...
