Once again I've updated the numbers in my original post as I added my 1000th different Todd Helton card to my collection this weekend. That now gives me 27 players in my 1000 Card Club. I am 4 cards away from adding a 28th player to the list. Thanks everyone for the trades that have helped me reach these numbers.

I have 1200+ different Fred McGriff cards...
I believe I have 600-700 different of each Chipper and Griffey. I am working on Helton at the moment, but not anywhere close to 1000.

I obtained my 1000th Wade Boggs card this weekend making him the 28th player of my 1000 card club. The next player is almost 100 cards away so it may be awhile before I add another.

Great... I definitely have thousands of cards also but i'm more of trading or selling my doubles kinda guy.... Other than hit cards or rookies. Lately I've been holding onto and buying rookie cards. Can't wait for the Johnny Bench rookie card to arrive in the mail

Congrats! 1000 of 28 different players is huge.....
Since my last post here, I have hit 1000 with David Ortiz and will hit 1000 on Ted Williams and Roger Clemens, and may have a chance of hitting 1000 Mo Vaughn.

Congratulations Scott. As a fellow Red Sox fan I find that terrific. I am most impressed with the number of Ted Williams cards you have. I've been collecting his cards since 1970 and only have a quarter of that amount.

Thanks. I have been recently focusing on picking up the inexpensive cards from the 80's & 90's TCMA's, Baseball card news, sportscasters, etc. and it has really filled in the collection nicely. In the last few years the book value of his recent cards has dropped and the competition for them has lessened, so I've been able to pick up all kinds of goodies without breaking the bank. I still need some big dollar ones; 1954 Bowman, 1954 Wilson Franks, and 1959 #68, but have the majority of his cards from his playing days as well.
