2011-12 NBA Hoops 2 Box Break - hoodauction - 03-24-2012

Heres my story with NBA Hoops I was at a cardshow a month ago and there was a guy selling wax and he had some Nba hoops i hadent seen it yet so was interested in checking it out, This other guy was buying some of the Sp authentic 2011-12 packs and got me to buy a couple because the box was getting low and he hadent hit anything yet so my chances were up, but no good, i did 4 packs i think and dident hit, but just picked one nba hoops pack out of a three quarter full box. I opened it and pulled a Marcus Camby base Auto. Was surprised and happy, So i bought a box and busted it later at home and got a Joakim Noah Base Auto and some other stuff, (see Scans) and i just bought a box of it again last weekend to try to finish off my complete set, i needed 3 cards got one about halfway through and i got to the last pack and i still hadent got the two i needed and i open that pack and theboth in there!! HAHA A great way to end my spluging week and save up for somthing nice.

I bought a box of these. I wont buy again to be honest. Its good for the younger kids to get them interested in the hobby though.

My box however had a ton of inserts, i got like 3 kobe inserts and dwight slam dunk and a larry bird heroes, and a bill russell if im not mistaken, and a blake griffin action card or whatever they are called and some others. Got 4 different slam dunk inserts. Still not worth it if you are looking for very valuable cards.

How can you tell that the glossy are glossy? I've opened a ton of these, and either haven't gotten any, or just haven't been able to tell the difference.

Are they CLEARLY glossy (ala glossy cards from the 80s), or is it subtle?

It's just like what Panini did with 2009-10 Panini. The glossy and the regular look identical, until you angle them at the light. The glossy cards will have a brighter shine than the matte cards. That is the ONLY way to tell unfortunately.
