Cam Newton - are a ton of his 'authentic autos' fake? - ugameck - 11-11-2011

Hey, don't give me that - they sign a ton of cards - thousand upon thousands and their signatures change. look at these examples:

Signed at the rookie premiere in front of topps officials:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CAM-NEWTON-2011-TOPPS-ROOKIE-PREMIERE-RC-SP-CARD-AUTO-ROOKIE-90-/360407877971?pt=US_Football&hash=item53e9fbc953

A sticker sent to Topps after "Cam" signed it:

A PressPass auto - signed about the same time as rookie premiere - on card:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-PRESS-PASS-CAM-NEWTON-BRONZE-AUTO-RC-SP-PANTHERS-L-K-/130596393951?pt=US_Football&hash=item1e6826d3df

A Leaf auto signed at the same time as the presspass and the rookie premiere:

SERIOUSLY one of these signatures is a fake. Who changes their signature so drastically in a matter of months....AND IS SO CONSISTENT IN EACH OF THEIR SIGNATURES.

is cam's brother, father, friend, other signing half his stuff? or is it just a coincidence that HALF of his signatures are completely different from the other (including the loops in the C and pressure points in where the pen is placed to start and finish letters)...yet every 'differently styled' autograph is exactly the same as themselves?

I THINK WE ARE GETTING DUPED ON THIS ONE.
or is it this one...check the "N" - doesn't look like any of them in any other signatures.

I'm serious. Who changes their signature in a matter of months so drastically that they change the direction in how they write individual letters?

I haven't seen enough of his auto's to notice such differences. I understand most people's autograph will change given the size of the object/area they are signing, but yeah that's kind of disappointing.
Chris Wells signature changed, but just got a little faster for him to write. None of the pressure points or start points changed.

RE: Cam Newton - are a ton of his 'authentic autos' fake? - jdetter23 - 11-11-2011

the only one that looks a little different is the topps prime but its like gonzo said peoples signatures change depending on the amount of space they have.Heck I know on some stuff where I have little room mine looks way different. On the others he isnt limited in space like the topps prime sticker. My mini helmet I got him to sign looks exactly like those and he had lots of room on it.

RE: Cam Newton - are a ton of his 'authentic autos' fake? - ugameck - 11-11-2011

my problem with the sigs primarily is the "hoop" back from his last letter to cross his T in Newton.

and - the fact that some of his autos do the whole C intercepting the N to make a CA then the rest of his name.

look at the pressure points in his autos.

He hasn't been signing his name for these cards for YEARS - the stickers were signed early - the same time as the rookie premiere - the same time as the on cards. guys - its only been MONTHS since he's signed these deals.

SPACE? - sign your own name in smaller and bigger spaces and just see if you change the way you WRITE letters. Do you change the first letter in your last name to a swoop forward pattern, or are they all the same? is a continuous motion, or do you do breaks in the letter. Look at the last card i put in the mix. Look at the N. compare it with others. Forward Slash, downward forward slash, backward forward slash - all pen impact marks at the TOP of the letter.

No other (non sage) auto is like this...look at the stickers compared to on card autos with different companies.

Look at the TOPPS ON CARD AUTOS - COMPARED WITH THE TOPPS STICKER AUTOS. Why is there such a difference?

something isn't legit.

RE: Cam Newton - are a ton of his 'authentic autos' fake? - chads-cards - 11-11-2011

Personally my signature changes all the time...sometimes its only really initials, other small fragments of my name and other my full name. I went with my dad all the time to the upper deck signings...He was a rep and was sent the cards then we would go meet the player and they would sign them...normally a hoel or their house. And some of the signers would change their sig if they needed to hurry up.

See you have a good point, it has only been months since he has had to mass auto stuff. I dont think he or any of the rookie have had the time to make 1 clear distinction signature time after time. If you look at other rookies youll see the same difference, some very different, some perty close to the same. Give em a few years, things will slow down, then they can develop good penmanship with better identifiable autos

RE: Cam Newton - are a ton of his 'authentic autos' fake? - Marinoisking - 11-11-2011

I have Peyton Manning autos from his rookie year in 1998 all the way to 2010 and several years in between and they are as close to exact as they could possibly be.
Marino did make a small change in his auto but nothing like the Cams.

Dez Bryant is someone you could compare to Cam....its hard to find 2 different Dez autos that look the same.

At the same time...in 1998 Peyton didnt sign NEAR the amount of cards todays rookies sign.
So some changes could maybe be a fatigue or a time issue.....but the complete change of breaks and pressure points def raises some concern.
