2010 Playoff Contenders - dosstergq - 08-14-2011

Recently I received a Koa Misi #161 Auto card from the 2010 Playoff Contenders set. I had looked up the value....and here is where I've ran into a problem its a BGS 10 pristine. What is the estimated value of the card? THANKS GREATLY FOR ANY HELP!!

Well, Usually being graded 10 pristine is going to greatly increase the value of a card. It also depends on the population of the particular card. In other words if the card in question has tons and tons of copies that received the same grade the value will not be as much. On the other hand if your BGS 10 is the ONLY one that has received such a grade the value can be insane. Just look at the Montana RC. There is only 1 copy that has ever achieved a BGS 10 and I think last time it sold it went for like 50,000.
I just ran the pop report on your card. You have the ONLY BGS 10 in existence ! Unfortunately its the only card that has been submitted for grading by BGS. This will probably hold down the value a little until other copies get submitted. If a high percentage of cards submitted get BGS 10's the value doesn't increase nearly as much.
For example I bought a 2005-06 Trilogy Monta Ellis BGS 10. I was able to pick it up for like 20 bucks. And the reason is out of the 19 copies submitted 7 of them got BGS 10's so that makes them not as rare when you have about 40% of the cards grading out to a 10

another question....will it still bring the value down say if the "soon to be other koa misi's" get graded just 9 or 9.5's but THE SET HAS GIVEN OUT MANY 10's to other players? THANKS for all the information!

It wont mateer on the other cards. It only matters on your player in question. If your card is the only 10, then it is like a 1/1. Until there is another of your card graded a 10, you have the 1/1, if another pops up, then you have 1/2 and so on.

I think if the rest of the card in the set grade a lot of 10's but the Koa Misi grade lower for some reason. That will make any high graded Koa Misi's more valuable.
If you sell it right now its an EBAY 1/1 ! LOL
