I am a Giants fan and hope for the best with Chris Stewart, but have to reckon, unless he has some sort of Jose Bautista enlightenment what you see is what you get, and he and Whiteside will both be dropped in favor of a Hector Sanchez(21) if Posey comes back with full force as a catcher.
So like you said he is 2 years younger and still has a lot of time to have a full career. He can hit doubles like heck and is working on getting his swing back to normal.

I saw Hector play a ton of games for San Jose before he got called up, and the guy can play. I do see him becoming a future option for the Giants once he develops his game a bit more. Another possibility is Tommy Joseph. He is a DH/1b/C for San Jose, but he can REALLY PLAY the game. I'm sold on him, although I'm pretty sure he's not going to stick with the Catching position in the big leagues.
Stewart is doing just fine for now, considering the tremendous amount of pressure thrust upon his shoulders. He's got a better arm than Whiteside and his bat will only continue to develop. We giants fans will just have to be patient, it's all part of the torture!

They called up Hector to the SF Giants today.

Is there a "trade" looming?Maybe for a certain NY MET switch hitting right fielder? The Mets need a catcher.

Be kind of weird if the Mets were wanting one of the two catchers that the Giants themselves have been thinking of replacing with catchers from other teams...lol, I mean, a trade could be in the works due to all of the roster moves going on with the Giants, but neither one of the Giants catchers seems like they would be a major catalyst for trade or an upgrade for the Mets, Whiteside's solid backup experience could be attractive slightly I suppose, and he seems gearing up to go on a slight hitting tear, think he's got a four game streak now.
Unless they want the minor league catcher Sanchez.

He just hit his first big league homer 8/9/2011 - think Giants pitcher Guillermo Mota was more excited than he was ha ha, was funny.
