2010 Playoff Contenders Blaster BOMB!!! - eriknep - 03-05-2011 06:37 AM I was almost ready to give up on 2010 Playoff Contenders after a recent sub-par (to say the least) hobby box I broke - you'd think (or hope) that 5 guaranteed autos would at least pay for the cost of the $150 box. I wasn't really that impressed with the base cards and when compared to a Platinum, Triple Threads, or Sterling football auto patch, the majority of these cards wouldn't make it to my display case. That's how I felt for the last week... ...that all changed this afternoon. ...thanks to Jeremy Williams (who?)!! (see attached photo) I rarely buy blaster boxes…only if I can’t get my fix at my local shop. But I bought a 2010 Playoff Contenders Blaster box for $29.99 at Target, which says on the box it guarantees one auto. Figured I'd give it another shot...especially at this price. I grumbled to myself when I opened the first pack only to find an autograph from a rookie I'd never even heard of and was about to careen off the road in disgust (yes, I open packs while I'm driving...at least it keeps me from texting while I drive!!). Anyway, I got home and decided to see what this card was going for on Beckett (Jeremy Williams AU 148, no serial#) only to find it's a SHORT PRINT and extremely rare (I think it’s on an endangered species list as well). Anyway, Beckett has it for $175, and one sold recently on Ebay for $500!! Needless to say, 2010 Playoff Contenders is quickly growing on me and at least one card has made it to my display case. RE: 2010 Playoff Contenders Blaster BOMB!!! - husker 101 - 03-05-2011 06:53 AM In my opinion anyone who has an SP thats not Berry, McCoy, or Blairwhite needs to sell it or trade it asap because now that print runs have been released all the high prices that they have been fetching is going to stop just my 2 cents RE: 2010 Playoff Contenders Blaster BOMB!!! - sconnienation3 - 03-05-2011 07:19 AM (03-05-2011 06:53 AM)husker 101 Wrote: In my opinion anyone who has an SP thats not Berry, McCoy, or Blairwhite needs to sell it or trade it asap because now that print runs have been released all the high prices that they have been fetching is going to stop just my 2 cents +1 RE: 2010 Playoff Contenders Blaster BOMB!!! - arod1973 - 03-05-2011 07:37 AM Is it just me or does it seem every blaster break has had a Rookie Auto SP?
