Worth picking up from the bay?
#1
Question
Worth picking up from the bay?
Duncan Chrome PSA 10

I was thinking $35 wouldn't be too bad right?

$35 isn't bad, but I have seen a lot of these lately, you may hold out and get one under $30. A new one just posted for $.99. I would pass and try on the next one, but it's up to you.

Checked the sold listings too. 7 out of the last 8 sold for under $35.

...has anyone ever noticed that Probstein or whatever seller always has PSA 10s. Either he takes on a ton of consignments or he's got a great eye...Hate that guy Tongue lol

Probstein takes a ton of consignments. I think he does some grading himself but I think most of the cards he puts up are consignments. They kill him on the PSA message boards. Not sure why. I have won a bunch of his auctions and he is a quick shipper and a seller with good customer service.

I once made a mistake bidding on an auction of his and won it for $300. I mistakenly bid on the item; I had two similar items he was selling on my watch list (same card one PSA 7 and one PSA 8) and I thought I was bidding on the PSA 8 but I mistakenly placed the higher bid on the PSA 7. I emailed him and told him the situation and he cancelled the sale no questions asked because I told him it was an honest mistake.

If you are a graded collector, he puts a ton of great graded cards up every week.

RE: Worth picking up from the bay?
The only problem I have had with him is he can't or won't really answer any questions about cards. There was a graded card he had that I was interested in, but it wasn't PSA, BGS or SGC. One of the corners looked weird in the photo like it was sort of bent or distorted. Was probably just the photo, but I wanted to make sure before purchasing.

He basically told me he sells cards AS-IS. I replied that is great, but I would like to know the AS-IS condition of that card. He said he couldn't tell me. This could have been because he was too lazy to go and dig through some boxes or possibly since he does consignments he doesn't even have the cards at his location.
