This may be a pretty unpopular opinion, but I'm actually really tired of all the retired stars and legends inserts. I mean, do we really need more Brooks Robinson inserts?

I would much rather have Topps go deeper into the rosters (think 40 Man from a few years back) for team collectors.

Maybe I'm just bitter right now ... I just busted four blasters, two blisters, a rack pack and two single packs of 2013 Topps and pulled exactly zero base cards of Trout or Harper.

But I sure did pull a nice, thick stack of Yogi Berra and Robin Yount insert cards!

I mean, couldn't they have their own set, and people that like the retired guys could go for that product?

And for perspective, I'm 37 years old, so I'm not some teeny bopper who has no idea who those guys are — I have great respect for them ... I'm just tired of pulling them.

This is 2013, not 1967!

i really like this years inserts compared to last years. they have a higher quality look and look more streamlined. i think i'm going to do a master set for this years because of that reason.

I did pull a trout and Darvish but no Harper. I do believe this set looks a lot better than'12 did. I do agree the retired guys does get old but I'm sure they will always be in topps base stuff. My favorite picture so far is the Rayburn at the wall with fans in the background.

I was a little bummed I didn't pull any Lawrie, Craig, or Strasburg. Master set sounds like a good challenge. I may shoot for that as well.

Yeah, I like that one too, LOL.

I was just really disappointed with the collation ... I pulled like three or four DeScalsos and Matt Thorntons, and none of the big names.

I mean, I think it's cool that they save the No. 7 card for Mantle, but man, I don't need any more Musials or Reggie Jacksons or whatever.

I REALLY like the die-cuts though — they are totally like something you'd pull out of Chrome.

And of course, I'm always a sucker for the free patch cards ... I actually did OK in that department ... Strasburg, Adrian Gonzalez (cool anniversary Dodgers patch), and then Votto and Bautista (eh, meh ...)
